Yes it's a rotary switch with single pole / 5 throw action. The problem is the detent. The spring is incredibly stiff. The force required to move the switch from one position to the next is nutcase high. This wouldn't be a fatal problem but there's no locking tab to keep the switch itself from moving when the knob is twisted. I don't think the shaft nut can be tightened enough to prevent this.I tried disassembling the switch to see if I could reduce the height of the detent bumps. The spring plate is extremely tight on the shaft so I couldn't remove it to get access to the detent plate.I bought this product because I needed a 1p5t rotary switch right away.I unless you have an application where a user needs to have major finger strength to twist the knob, stay away from this switch.I should have gone to Mouser or Digit-key.

very robust switch. use your good hand to turn dial. nice spacing between terminals which bodes well for frequency usage. Nicely made. Use small flat tip screw driver of solid construction to tighten dial screws.

Not all of the connections make contact. 3 of the 5 positions don't work. I can make the work by pushing on the contacts with a screwdriver.
