I can watch my VHS tapes again and rewind them like the good days back in the 80's and 90's. I wish VHS would never be discontinued.

The product looked new but when I tried to use it the first 4 or 5 times the rewinder would not keep running unless I held the cover down. If I let go, the rewinder would stop and open up. Finally it began to stay closed and seems to be working now. Hopefully it will keep working for this amount of money.

This rewinder was more than used, it must of been abused. It was listed as refurbished, however it didn’t work. The door would barely close and when it did the unit made a howling noise as it tried to rewind tapes. Then it required a screw driver to pry the tape out. Would not recommend this supplier.

The product works well as designed. The mechanism is designed to rewind tapes that have not been rewound. If the tape is at or near its rewound state, the door will not close (as it should be so designed). Do not try to test the mechanism with a tape that has been rewound.

Arrived on time, no damage. Rewinds videos smoothly, and works as expected. Worth the money spent!

I ordered two VHS tape rewinders because our disabled daughter watches some older videos on "tape", and rewinding them in the VHS player greatly reduces the life of the player. The two units arrived and she is using one now, with no problems. The only issue was that somehow my order, through Amazon, which showed both a shipping and billing address of Southern California, managed to get shipped to Atlanta,Georgia.I sent a note to the seller, and I suspect that he had a hard time believing that the shipment went the wrong way. It took longer than I expected, but the units did in fact arrive at my home, and are in new condition. Although it is not a problem, and I am glad to have received them, the curious side of me wonders how the original shipment was sent to GA instead of CA - ? ? ? All is well that ends well. I appreciate the seller's correction of the shipment and would not hesitate to purchase from him again. It is kind of like "don't tell me everything was great" . . . What I would prefer to hear is "if there is a problem, how was it resolved". The seller in this transaction gets an AAA rating.

I needed a VHS tape rewinder to save wear and tear on my VCR. My previous VHS rewinder had recently died. Even though there were some bad reviews on this rewinder, it had more positve reviews than others and was a reasonable price. Ultimately, it rewinds all of my tapes, but it works better on some brands of tapes than others. With my better Sony and Maxell tapes, it works just fine. With other tapes it may get slow or make too much noise, so I have to hold the cover closed more. With one of my tapes it got to a point on the tape and made this very loud noise, solved by holding down the cover. Sometimes the rewinder would not pop open when done rewinding, but it did stop running. I would probably not run it unattended, except for a few minutes, just in case it acts up. Even with these "problems" it rewound all my tapes and none yet have been damaged. And, even with these "problems" this was money well spent if it helps prolong the life of my VCR. I don't think any company is going to spend much time "improving" these machines. Even though some of us are still using VHS tapes, for me to record tv shows, more people are not, they are using DVDs or DVRs. Some day I will probably be forced to move on, but this works for me right now.
