Problem fixed! My computer has been going offline for about a month. Sometimes it will stay online for a couple hours without turning itself off and other times it shuts off every couple minutes. I tried everything, even took it in to be repaired and they said because it was an intermittent problem not much they could do. I purchased this USB item, plugged it into the computer and it's worked fine ever since, I haven't been kicked offline one time since plugging it in. The first port I plugged it into nothing happened, so I plugged it into another port and it instantly was recognized, I just went through the installation process - no problem! It works great!

I bought this to put on a computer running Ubuntu Linux. The instructions with it only mention using it with Windows. But here's the thing: on my Linux distro, I had to boot it up first without the WiFi adapter, then install it while in the settings. Once it found my WiFi signal, I just had to put in the password and I was all set. Works just fine now.
