I bought this for the car. I can't believe the cars don't have cd players in them anymore. I have a portable cd player and with this I will be able to listen to my music. I assume it works because I haven't tried it yet.

I am not a fan of monitors that don't have speakers, but most don't. I am not a fan of monitors that don't have an audio out jack to connect external speakers, but many don't. Not all mini PCs have an audio out jack either, sound via HDMI only... and of course, the monitor has no speakers...Ok, I buy this thing, hoping it will provide sound in the same manor that a USB headset does, converting the USB audio to regular minijack audio, and it does, just fine. With small Logitech powered speakers, the sound is good and clear. Beats having to wear a USB headset just to watch videos online.

I got a LG monitor and plugged my desktop speaker 3.5mm audio Jack into the port. The monitor doesn’t expose the volume controls to the keyboard or computer, they wanted me to use the switch under monitors bezel to control it. What a pain! This fixed the problem, I plugged my 3.5mm Jack into this and then into the USB port in the monitor, no more dumb monitor volume controls.
