My Windows 11 computer did not recognize it, so the internal drivers did not load. There were no instructions what-so-ever...not even a website listed where I could go for drivers. I suppose it might have worked had there been instructions or a place to download drivers...but I'll never know. I had to return it.

Remember back when we all had fax-modems in our PCs? Good old dial-up Internet days.Back then everyone could fax from their PC...Fast forward to today, no more fax modems. So folks need an all-in-one printer (with fax) which isn't that common actually... Or buy a stand alone fax machine, also not common and not cheap... Could drive to Staples, but that's not convenient either...This USB dongle, is basically a software fax modem and is useful for sending it receiving faxes at home.Fax is secure, fast, cheap compared to electronic means. And in some cases like for medical or legal purposes actually preferred over electronic email (which sometimes isn't encrypted for home use).I couldn't be happier to have this and it's been very useful and reliable.

When I try to use it, I get "Modem cannot play audio; disable option."I didn't realize that not all modems don't support voice, so buyer beware.

Windows 10 Home version 1803. I plugged this device in to a USB port, plugged in the phone line and then ran the Microsoft Windows Phone Dialer (search for it) and it worked perfectly. I am able dial contacts right from my Outlook contacts entries. Here are the steps that I use.1. Either run the phone dialer or click on the Outlook contact you want to Call2. In the phone dialer enter the number you want to dial and press Dial3. Pick up the phone and once the dial tones have completed click hang-up on the dialer (this does not hang up the call you made as long as the phone is off-hook). Don't worry about any error messages.Folks should remember that this device is merely a way to Dial your landline phone from your computer (I have Ooma VOIP service). My primary use is as speed dialer (the MS phone dialer has an 8 number speed dial) or to dial folks in my Outlook contacts. This device DOES NOT provide a way to make internet calls using your pc"s microphone and speakers or headphones.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.11.6, and this USB modem works great. I did not need to install any drivers. I fired up Z-Term, opened the usb12345671 device, set my baud rate to 57600, and everything works.atdt8002584660CONNECT 57600+---------------------------------------+: Heights BBS (BOT Zapper) :: By Dan Fitzgerald of Future World II :+---------------------------------------+To enable caller ID, you need to send the "AT+VCID=1" command. Apparently, this feature was removed in OS X 10.12. However, if your printer has fax capabilities, you might be able to fax from your Mac through your printer.Anyway, if you're still using 10.11, though, just open System Preferences, Printers & Scanners, and click on the + to add the modem as a fax device. Now every time you print, you can choose the fax modem as a device. You can sign up for a free fax account with efax.com to test it, if necessary.

Didn't expect much here - but the reviews indicated there was a pretty good if not 100% chance this USB Fax Modem would likely work on our Win10 PC. Price was $16 with Prime 2-day shipping. We have voice and data service via a broadband cable modem. Why buy this Fax device? There are still times you need to fax documents to law/ /real estate /government etc. offices that will NOT accept e-mails w/attached PDF or scanned documents. You will ALSO need access to a voice/fax compatible "phone line" to use this USB Fax Modem, it comes with a white colored, light duty 1-meter (39 inch) RJ-11 phone line/ cord. There are NO printed instructions, nor any documentation, nor any s/w driver CD included in the package. We did not need, and did not try to contact the seller for technical support. It has two green LEDs on it, one illuminates indicating power, and the other illuminates when it is actively faxing. There is NO speaker tomonitor fax activity - only the two green LED indicator lights. This USB Modem shows up plug-and-play as a "Conexant USB CX93010 ACF Modem" in the Windows 10 Fax and Scan Application, and worked through a USB hub (did not have to be plugged directly into a USB port in the computer/laptop case). We did NOT have to seek out/upload to our PC any OEM/2nd/3rd party drivers to make this device work.We sent a test fax via this device and our broadband cable voice/data modem, to a toll free fax number at a web site (put FaxToy into your browser/search engine). This site displays one page fax pages online, after approximately one minute delay from receipt. We did not test receipt of faxes. We bought this device solely to send faxes. For the price, this device works, and gets the job done without any frills. Externally it resembled a many years-old Dell USB Modem adapter that we had in the bottom of an old computer bag. The adapter we purchased here had Win10 compatible drivers (possibly generic ones) loaded into it, some older model Fax adapters sold on Amazon may not support Win10, this one did and worked for us.
