- #67 in Camera Lens Polarizing Filters

Don't waste money on this! The thread on this CPL filter is poorly machined, making it difficult to attach to the lens. Additionally, the rotation is inconsistent—some areas require excessive force, while others are too loose. The overall adjustment process feels rough and far from smooth. Given the price, the quality is disappointing.

This cpl filter does what it’s supposed to do, especially useful when photographing cars by taking off reflections from the windows. The filter gets stuck on my sigma 24 - 70mm f.2.8 sony mount since the filter is very narrow

Left photos are CPL filter, right are no filterImage quality suffers too much to warrant using the lens for the minor benefits it provides with reflections. Both photos are shot at the same shutter and F/stop which was 8.0, typically this f/stop is good for cars, usually do 5.6-8 just to get everything in focus and depending on the angle. As you can see it does reduce some of the reflections in the first photo and kills the white hues on this metallic car, the white hues are essentially clouds.. and they are taken seconds apart to reduce any sort of variables. However if your expectation is that it will remove the majority of the reflections, this isn't going to happen.Second, the photos are much more saturated which is a perceived benefit of a CPL filter, saturation can always be added in post however..Third, the filter reduces light by a full stop, the CPL photo example included has a 1+ ev added in post to get similar curve.. Good CPL filters tend to reduce a full stop, so this is completely normal.Fourth, the 2nd photo is the rear of the car.. I focused the point on the headlight but I wanted to see what the quality would look like at the rear of the car at F/8.. the right photo is without the filter and retained a lot of details, even on the green fence in the background.. It might not be a big deal for people uploading prints to the internet, but if you need to crop or print photos, this may be a deal breaker if you're doing anything larger than 8 x 12..Fifth, with the filter, I sometimes would miss focus.. could be the camera or lens though.. was using single point, it would just hunt for focus..So overall, not a good buy in my opinion.. camera used, Fuji X-H1 with Fuji XF 23mm F/2 prime lens, filter size used, 43mm

I use this for tabletop photography and it works well for that. I haven’t noticed any color shift or loss of sharpness

Works well and as advertised. You could pay more, but why would you. For a basic polarizing filter, this product delivers. Would highly recommend it.

As with every Gobe filter I’ve purchased, this one is of the highest quality. It’s almost impossibly thin, and well constructed in every way.
