I got this one due to the design. The solid metal mashing component shouldn't brake and the way it's bolted into the handle should also prevent detachment. So far so good!

The masher wash much better built than I expected. In a home it will easily last for years. The stainless steel has a nice satin finish, and looks good with the wood.

Great product but need the handle to be 1 -2 " more in length when doing jams and jellies.Sturdy product so far. My go to masher for sure. Durability - at least one season of jams done so far. Would buy again but would look for just a little longer handle. Otherwise - great! Rv.

This potatoe masher is exactly what I needed. I had a wire squiggly looking one but it left so many chunks behind. This one gave me a nearly perfectly smooth mashed potatoe. I think the method of mashing is what led to the to having some clumps. I chose to add my ingredients before mashing the potatoes. I think that I would've had a better consistency if I mashed the potatoes first then added my ingredients later. I'm going to try again before adding my ingredients and update if it makes a difference. The handle is easy to grip and the slender shape and length makes it easy to put enough strength behind mashing without hurting your hand or wrist. No complaints at all. My only concern is whether it will rust or not. Overall, great cooking tool.*Update*Making the potatoes before adding your ingredients is definitely the way to go. This batch is nearly as light as whipped mashed potatoes. There are still some tiny potatoes pieces in there but not enough to affect the consistency. I don't think you can really get rid of all the clumps using this method. As far as I'm concerned this is the best without using a more composted method.

I'd been using a masher with a plastic plate for many years, and it was soooo hard to clean, even after soaking immediately after use. This one is sturdy, mashes better, and is easy to clean. It does a fantastic job with potatoes, squash, beans, etc. I do not put it in the dishwasher because of the wooden handle.

At this low price I didn't expect much. I thought it'd be poorly made, but good for some light use. I was (happily) mistaken. It's well made. I've just used it once, but it made quick work of about 1.5lbs of Yukon Gold potatoes. Even the wooden handle is well made (I can't speak to the rivets). After washing it, the first thing I did was to apply a good deal of lateral force to see how much it would bend. Well, I wasn't able to move the masher (bottom) very far off-axis from the handle. And it didn't permanently deform at all. This should be the only masher I will ever need. It was MUCH easier to clean than I thought it would be. The holes are about 7mm in diameter.
