First off, if you're like me and have multiple, somewhat older, before "connected" or even "remote operated" direct vent natural fireplaces...you can relate to needing this product. At one of our homes we have direct vent natural gas "Heatilator" on every level. I've obtained a remote device for each one (I'd love to try a "Smart" / Alexa enabled device) and this hands down is the best kit I've installed. The first one I installed was in our family room and is used often. It shows temperatures, allows for setting a low/high temperature, and can operate like a thermostat. The second was a simple on/off for the master bedroom unit that is used no where near as much as the other two..we just wanted a better way to control it as well, versus the "low voltage" light switch that was the primary on/off mechanism for all three fireplace in our Lake House. This item features both black and white faceplates and components required to to integrate / replace the switch entirely with the remote receiver, controller, and switch housing. It doesn't come with batteries which almost made me drop a star but the quality of this unit is unparelled compared to the others I've gotten. Our home is fully "connected" for the most part (Light bulb-indoor/outdoor, awnings, window shades, etc)...Alexa is a good friend! The remove is higher quality with a better LCD than the others, that had one, and it that is the primary difference the remote.I was originally wondering why I didn't just implement a "smart solution" off the bat, albeit, as a home that is used often by others whom don't have access to my smart home accounts...I'm a firm believer in there being hard buttons as well as remotes/Smart Control. An IR blaster is next and something you could consider as additive if you wanted to make this item smart as well and that would, ultimately save you money versus the "already connected" modules. Thanks for the great product and I'll update the review if I notice any problems but so far, sooo happy! I have remote (RF) control all three fireplaces at my Lake House now!
