I ordered this roll of cat scratching prevention mat in hopes of protecting some of the fabric surfaces of our furniture from scratches and providing a quick repair for a small piece of cat scratching furniture that had its outer material removed.The material itself is relatively easy to measure and cut from the roll, but I would say it lacks a bit in the adhesive quality. The piece I pasted on the cat scratcher shown in the review picture only lasted a few hours (without being touched) until it began peeling off by itself. Underneath that surface is plain, smooth cardboard. I attempted to use the fastening screws for extra security, but they were impossible to get in without bending them and rendering them useless. The material also did not want to stick to our fabric ottoman.Overall a good product idea, but leaves much to be desired in actual details and functionality.

The jury is out a bit on this product. On the one hand, it is working because once installed, the cats are no longer scratching the furniture. But on the other hand, since the material does not match the furniture in design or color, applying it to a chair or couch makes them look a bit odd.That said, I do recommend this, but not for covering furniture, but rather to create your own home-made scratching pads. You can stick this to a door or cover the legs of a cat tower. In our house, after a couple of years, the cats have pretty much ripped the rope off the legs of the cat tower. After removing all the frayed rope, I wrap this product around the legs, and extend the life of the cat tower a few more years. The sticky part is really sticky and adheres well to the legs. If I notice that the pad is working loose down the road, I can always tack it back on with a staple gun or nail.

I just put this protector on my couch corner, and so far it’s doing the job keeping kitty claws at bay. The adhesive was easy to apply, and I like that it’s trimmable — got the perfect fit for my furniture edges.The material feels sturdy enough to handle scratching, but it’s still early days. It blends in pretty well with my beige couch, so it doesn’t scream “cat trap” in the living room.Overall, so far so good. If it keeps my furniture safe without being a pain to maintain, this will be a solid solution.4 stars — early positive signs, hoping it holds up over time.
