Works good . Decent for the price . Seems like it has to be straight up and down to activate power . Wish it triggered sooner .

With this you can turn a regular pump that would ren all the time into one that turns off automatically.

Every year I would go through fountain pumps. I added this float to turn the pump on and off sooner. This is the first year and five that everything is held together. Rain fills it. The float now gives me about 14 inches leeway between on and off. The birds love it.

I had a perfectly good sump pump, but the float switch had failed. This replacement works just fine, letting the pump turn on and off at the right water levels.

Fast shipping and great construction. Wish I had this earlier when finding alarm products for my septic system!

This float switch actuates (turns on pump or anything else attached) when the water level in which it is placed rises sufficiently to turn it vertical. However, when thw pump lowers the water level to allow this to rest horizontally it often continues to run. Users must set this up to fall head end downward, cord side upward so the inner switch falls away and opens the switch again. You must have sufficient room to affix the corded end of the head to something (maybe the pump) so it may move more freely. The stiffness of the cord, and size of the switch add to the space requirement. Finally, if you don't use a check valve with your pump, the water will either siphon back through your evacuation hose/tube/pipe re-actuating the switch in an endless off-on loop.
