I got this gauge to use on my old Ferguson 35 tractor, which does not currently have a water temp gauge on it now. Since it will be a while 'till I get it hooked up on my tractor, I decided to test it in the kitchen. I wired it up with a small 12 volt battery and put the sensor into a pot of boiling water and the gauge gave a very close reading to 212 degrees. I am at 3000 ft elevation, so water boils at a lower temperature than at sea level.

I installed this temperature gauge in an older Yamaha Rhino so I can monitor the engine coolant temperature. Installation was simple and the included wiring directions were clear and easy to understand. No wire is included, so you will need some 18-16 gauge wire for 12v power, ground and signal from the temp sensor. There is also a separate connection for the light, but I wired it the the meter power and gnd terminals, so my backlight stays lit anytime the meter is powered. The temp sensor has a standard 1/8 NPT thread. Accuracy appears to be good enough, but I didn't have another meter to compare it against.Overall, this is a functional, basic analog temp gauge that should look right at home in older cars, trucks or other equipment.
