Love this item. Simply plugged in two Hard drives from my old computers and they were available instantly. For me that's a total game changer. Setup my new computer and then to instantly have access to all my old files. Boom! I keep the unit plugged into the computer rear USB posts all the time. Two weeks and zero issues. I'll update if problems arise in the future. Highly recommend.

Worked perfectly. You don't need to install any software to use it, but instructions have a software that you can download for making backups on a drive, which I did not try. Each side of the box has a different connector type so it works for even old drives that require a power input to the disk drive itself. Very easy to use.

I needed to check the content of some old drives that were pulled out of recycled cases. These were drives from old Windows 7 and 8 machines that were stuck in a storage closet for years. I was able to quickly connect them to a currently working windows 10 system by just pugging them into this device and using a USB cable. Plug and play. No special software for what I needed to do.

I just bought this to test on a 20 year-old laptop IDE hard drive.First of all, the slots are confusing because I had to use one that omitted using the last two pairs of teeth. It just would not fit on the 3.5 even though, with all the teeth, it appears to be the same size ... save for one pair of teeth skipped on the third end. Go figure, or go check the figure.Once it connected to the right slot (front end opposite of wires), it worked. However, the box did not come with instructions except to tell me to scan the barcode to go online. The URL on the card would have been nice since I wanted it on my desktop and not my phone and transferring the link via email was time consuming. Luckily, the Amazon website had a link to a manual which had the link to the software which has a different manual altogether. Exhausting!I was able to see my hard drive finally, but, like others, the connection was erratic, and it kept getting disconnected.The software is to restore the drive as an original PC. I did not use that since it's a 20 year-old computer. I would not recommend trying that if your connection is faulty. However, for simple file extraction, it got the job done.My piece of advice is if you're extracting data, do not do a cut, but a copy/paste to be safe and then use a file comparison tool (e.g., WinMerge) to see what files are missing or different upon any disconnect.

Arrived promptly and already used for three old desktop hard drives. Found very easy to use the 12volt plug power easily powers up the old hard drives. Found an additional benefit no need to create a new user account for each hard drive to access files, simply allowed me to open them.For the price would definitely recommend this simple to use very effective product does as it says on the tin.

Funciona de maravilla, aunque no he probado la función de auto respaldo todavía. Lo que si me deja un poquito insatisfecho es que el material se siente un poquito delicado, entiendase, no es de uso rudo, hay que tratarlo con cuiado, pero tampoco es que se vaya a romper en cualquier momento.
