The United RT18 rotary paper cutter has safety in mind with an encased blade to prevent accidentally grabbing the cutter blade. The cutting head guide rail screws onto the cutter, preventing the cutting head from sliding off during use, ensuring safety in classrooms, at home and in offices.

Lightweight and cuts well. If you need a precise cut from an odd shaped/sized piece you have to guess where to cut because actual cutting edge is a little further out from the edge of the plastic clamping bar.

i absolutely love this paper trimmer!!! its everything i had hoped and more. united is an excellent brand, i am so glad i did my research and (luckily) waited until i found this cutter and didnt settle for some flimsy "that'll do" alternative. SO HAPPY :) :) :)

I’m accustomed to using a Rotatrim at work, and I needed a smaller less expensive cutter at home for my personal photo projects. So glad I ordered this United RT12– it is terrific! So much care went into the design and manufacturing of the RT-12. I’ve been using it for several weeks now, and I am more and more impressed each time I use it. It cuts straight and accurate. Can even shave a 1/32 inch off the edge. I love that it is lightweight, yet rock-solid. It never slides around on the table, and the cutting blade wheel is not wiggly. I’ve used it to cut single sheets and stacks of 5 sheets of 24# paper, Ilford double weight fiber darkroom paper, Strathmore 100# cover stock, Epson heavy photo paper, Avery heavy-duty labels. All successful. If you order the United RT-12, allow yourself a couple of weeks to get used to it. Like any quality tool, there is a learning curve at first. Be patient, the more you use it, the more success you’ll have. Well worth the money!

It cost a little bit but it was well worth every penny and the ease of cutting the paper was welcomed.I would definitely buy another one if I needed it.

This is sturdy but not too heavy. I can easily bring it to the table as needed, which is almost daily. It does cut 15+ sheets effortlessly. The clear holder makes it quick to line up papers and the guide can slide in and out easily. I absolutely love this cutter, what a time saver.The cuts are so smooth, way better than the knife blade cutters. I looked at cheaper ones but decided on this for quality and I am glad I did.

I used this cutter to do a partial cut on 110# index to make a special folder for a customer. It worked great!

No idea why this has such high reviews. I purchased the med 26in cutter. The slide bar and "paper clamp" are just cheap rickety plastic. There's tons of play in the slide bar so you'll need to use a square every time you adjust it if you hope to get accurate cuts. The cutter is hard to pull even when its empty. Don't buy this unless you plan to mod/replace the slide bar.

My first use of the RT18 was to cut 288 (8.5 x 11) sheets of paper both vertically and horizontally to make booklets resulting in 4.25 x 5.5 size. The cuts were precise, the paper guard kept the paper in place beautifully and the blade was smooth. The job was quickly completed and I did not have experience the many frustrations I experienced with other well known cutters. I also used it to cut photo paper with the same perfect results.
