The wider size of the platform which includes a keyboard and a mouse pad/space would have required a larger metal support underneath the wooden platform to avoid the wabbling effect when typing on the keyboard, mostly due to limited thickness of the wooden platform.I expected a sturdier drawer.

This keyboard tray is excellent. It was reasonably easy to install, although a bit awkward for the installer. I am getting a bit old to be crouching down in desk keyholes. However we got it done. We have an old-fashioned double bank of drawers desk, very well made, but wanted to update it by taking out the middle drawer and installing a keyboard tray so it would be more ergonomic for me. It works just as advertised and I am very pleased.

This keyboard tray is excellent. It was reasonably easy to install, although a bit awkward for the installer. I am getting a bit old to be crouching down in desk keyholes. However we got it done. This is the second under desk keyboard tray I've purchased in as many weeks. I chose this one as it fit the space I had, just the length of my full size keyboard (18 3/4). It was certainly a bit easier to install than the previous one as the manufacturer provided some double sided tape to affix the slide plate under the desk while you make your measurements and drill your holes. The tray came with its own wrist wrest that span its entire length and, as an added bonus, also included a mouse tray that rotated in and out from under it so as to be out of the way when storing. It is pretty sturdy except for a slight (up and down) movement in the tray, which I am assuming is coming from the arm assembly. I've tightened the adjust knob but the tray still moves. This is really not that a big of a deal since it's only noticeable when you actually lift the tray up (and down) from its resting position. The tray is quite functional, sturdy and does not give off any observable movement when in use. The long slide plate even hides it further than the other one that I purchased. I am quite satisfied with this item and will certainly recommend it.

My computer desk had an under-desktop sliding keyboard tray that was at the end of its life. An internet search failed to find a functionally suitable desk that would fit in the required footprint. An internet search for an under-desktop sliding keyboard tray could not be found that would fit in the under-desktop available width of 21 inches of my existing desk due to the presence of an under-desktop drawer. Generally, all trays required at least 24 inches of available width. This product was also listed as requiring 24 inches minimum width, but the tray itself was only 20 inches wide. I assumed or gambled that the space requirement was due to the attached mouse pad that because of the raised mouse retainer feature that prevented the mouse pad from rotating completely underneath the tray. This assumption proved to be correct. I ordered the product because I have been using the mouse on the desktop rather than being on a tray beside the keyboard.In assembly, I centered the location of the slide track and used a builder's square to ensure that the track was oriented at a right angle to the front edge of the desk. Removing the long bolt holding the mouse pad underneath the tray also disconnected one end of the wrist guard from the shelf, so I moved the bolt holding the middle of the wrist pad to the end where I removed the long bolt. My keyboard is a 104-key standard size that is about 18 inches wide so the two end bolts on the wrist pad that are about 17 inches apart bear all of the force that holds the keyboard in place. The user of a smaller keyboard such as one without the 10-key numerical pad should replace the middle bolt. A suitable bolt from a hardware store can be obtained to replace the middle bolt in either case.The single knob securely holds both the tray depth below the desktop and the tray tilt angle. Actually, the keyboard and even the tray can be adjusted higher than the top of the desktop after they are pulled out from under the desktop, but I prefer to set the height level just once so that the keyboard can be pulled out from under the desktop and used immediately without further adjustment. The tray will not wobble or tilt from side to side unless the tray is resting on something such as the operator's thighs. The product meets all of my specific requirements. Due to the wrist pad attached to the tray that stabilizes the location of the keypad on the tray, the available distance front-to-back of the tray for the keypad is 8 1/4 inches. My keyboard with a non-removable 2-inch front-to-back wrist pad almost fills the tray. This product is robust, neatly crafted, and truly functional.
