These are very well constructed, should be tough enough to take some abuse or bumping around in a container while traveling, but I tested 3 of them, and one of them simply would not work no matter how I bent it, at both ends, in the middle, across a countertop to get more leverage, I even stomped on it. It wouldn't light up. But the other two were great, glowed a long time and very bright. I use them for emergency flares in the vehicles, just remember to put about 2 - 3 3 of them in the vehicle in case one is not working.

Basic discount glow sticks. They work well. They can be found at a cheaper price, but those less-expensive glow sticks aren’t delivered to your door by Amazon. For some reason I didn’t receive the full variety of colors -- no blue or green sticks in my delivery, and I received an overabundance of red and orange sticks. But that’s not an issue. The kids will play with any color of glow stick. The included necklace strings are handy. If you need to save money, be sure to shop around.
