You don’t need this. You could improvise. But This is tailor made to keep the light out of your eyes and focus it where it’s needed. It doesn’t make a chemical light stick a flashlight though so don’t expect that kind of performance. But keeping the light from shining back at you helps in some situations. As far as construction it seems to be the same plastic as an USGI canteen. It fits both Cyalume sticks well. The Chemlight and the Snaplight. Likely will fit similar other brand sticks as well. As far as fit and finish. The ones I received where good to go out of package.👍

I just got this today. I took a debur knife to some seems and sharp corners. It's quiet as a mouse after that. The plastic is thick and a bit soft, which hopefully means it can stand the cold. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Twist clockwise to close it up and counter to open the shutter. This is not high quality gear, but it is great for the price.

El material no es muy resistente pero cumple con su función

The material feels cheap, like the plastic they use for cheap kids toys, like toy soldiers or farm animals. It probably isn’t the most sturdy or resilient material, if it were to get tangled or pulled on. It does hold a light stick well and securely enough and I like its functions. It does the job well, I only wish it appeared a little more polished and maybe was more durable, but otherwise no serious complaints.

Pretty cheap plastic, wouldn’t put much faith in the little clip, but works and for less than $5 🤷‍♂️

I bought a couple of these to keep in my work bag, as a backup to ever-draining flashlight batteries. I am extremely pleased. They are lightweight. That is a pro and a con, as they are fairly rugged but I could see the clip eventually snapping. The tube itself seems more than tough enough to last through drops or even being stepped on. The tube has a clip to attach to, say, your collar. It also has a hole for attachment to a lanyard. They are easy to deploy. I had my 4 year old do it with her eyes closed, from opening the tube with a stored SnapLight in it to re-assembly. I tested mine with Cyalume SnapLight Industrial Grade Lights by Cyalume Technologies, and the fit was perfect (as you would expect from the same manufacturer).Once assembled, the aperture is adjustable so you can let out a little light (as small as a 1mm x 2mm hole), or gradually open it to expose about 1/3 of the SnapLight at full-open. This is great, as it allows you to use the glowstick to see, without having the light blind you at the same time. The light projects away from you without lighting you up.Overall, I would highly recommend these to anyone who uses glow sticks (SnapLights) for work or camping.
