I've been going through power supplies based on Lorex's 2.5amp specification and all I get is hot power supplies that crash in a year. I order these running 5amp and they barely get warm. Lorex DVR hasn't power cycled once and run cool now. So far 6 months and no issues.

Worked great. liked the fact that it had a cord that plugged into the wall instead of directly plugging into the outlet and blocking other connections. But I did think the DC cord was too short. I had to add an extension to the DC / 12volt end.

After thinking I lost my DVR, I figured out the little green light not being on meant the power supply was dead. A call to Sony and their techs had me finally understand that you cannot use more than 5 cameras and this to the dvr. Sony price gouges their replacements and for whatever reason this brand came with my dvr but they told me not to use it and buy the Sony brand. Baloney. These are just as good. Those dvr warranties are worthless. If you do not know about the power requirements you end getting fooled into thinking you can depend only one brick for the entire unit. I almost think it is a racket the way they set their customers up. This was the ticket to what I needed.

I purchased this power supply to replace one that I had on my security cameras. The old power supply I had stopped working after about six years of use. I looked for a similar one from the company listed on the back, but couldn't find one. This one from CS has a similar model number and the exact same voltage / amperage. Once I received it from Amazon, I plugged it into my security cameras and it worked just like the old one. The one thing I like better about this power supply is that it has a green light that indicates the power is on. My old one didn't have this feature.

I would give it a 5 star but according Amazon means that "I love it". How can you "love" this item? There's absolutely nothing wrong with this item. It's as they describe it. I like it.
