Yes, they cost more than most other brands, but Ubiquiti Unifi is an understated brand. There is a reason why it's so popular because their hardware and software are solid!

I am an existing Ubiquiti customer and have an established network. I was in need of an additional AP to boost the signal in one side of my home. I purchased the U6+ AP to replace my aging UAP-AC-Pro and had no issues adopting the new AP.Setup is a breeze, just connect the new AP to a PoE enabled switch port either on your Switch/Router or PoE Injector (sold separately) and hit Adopt on the controller, the software takes care of the rest. Total setup is less than 5 minutes.Performance is outstanding and supports up to WiFi 6 (note this is not WiFi 6E). I was able to saturate the 1Gb Ethernet uplink when running speed tests. I wish this came with 2.5Gb but for my needs, the 1Gb wired speed limitation works fine for most people, but WiFi 6 leaves some bandwidth on the table.Overall great value for the money, I plan to buy one or two more and extend my wireless into my shop next.

It along with my existing unifi ap split the load among themselfs and it supports wifi6 which helps. Didn't know I needed a power injector or the standard it needed but I found one that works with it.

For one, you HAVE to use an app on your phone. For two, in order to get any basic features (like a guest network!), you either have to buy one of their routers or a cloudkey or some other crazy thing and it's not all that clear what you should really get. It's just so complicated. Maybe on purpose so that the pros can feel good about themselves? I ended up using this to replace an OnHub (a mistake for sure) and even that was complicated. Half the devices in the old network with the same SSID and password wouldn't connect. After resetting a few of them (like a nest thermoset that was a pain to set back up) I discovered the Unifi defaults to some other standard for authentication that many devices don't support. For the customer I intended to use this for I ended up getting a TP-Link EAP670 V2 Omada . . . and while I may regret that too (the OnHub that got abandoned was a TP-Link too!) it has a web ui and easy options you can install on a server for handling the more advanced features (like handoff among different AP's in a building and centralized management). But even with just ONE and without installing that extra software I could setup a guest network no problem! In fact, I could have as many wifi networks as I wanted which was kinda crazy.

These are solid products, been using them for many years. You do not need a subscription for anything with ubiquiti, other reviews that say you need a subscription to set these up - ignore that, its simply not true. They do take some tech skills to setup so if you are an IT illiterate person, you will probably face troubles. With that being said, if you have the know how to get these going you will not be disappointed. The only downside is their support is lacking and thats because they do not charge subscription fees...

I recently upgraded my Unifi based home network. I had an old Edgerouter PoE that was starting to intermittently fail. I had thought the problem was my Unifi AC Pro that kept dropping, but I came to realize that it was due to inconsistent PoE power from the Edgerouter that was causing my issues. The Edgerouter consistently ran very hot, and it seems plausible that after 6 or so years that it would start to fail.I ended up replacing the Edgerouter with the Unifi Dream Machine Special Edition. It not only gave me far greater control of my network assets, but it proved that the old Edgerouter was the culprit - no outages since the conversion. I had a third party wireless router configured as an access point that was still working, but since I implemented VLANs on the UDM-SE, I lost some wireless functionality since the 3rd party router could only broadcast 1 Wifi SSID, which was a problem. So, I replaced it with this AP.It set up pretty easily - I had a few learning curve issues to contend with, but after some trial and error, the AP came up well. I kept it located where the old 3rd party AP was, and I now have seamless coverage with the multiple SSIDs without issue. I am no network expert, and the new capabilities required some patience, but it is all up and running, and I couldn't be happier. There are still some network config issues that I have to resolve, but they are minor. This AP fits in well and provides the coverage intended, and I have much more control over how my network works!

I needed a reliable, powerful access point to extend Wi-Fi coverage across my living area, and the U6+ has exceeded my expectations. My network setup includes a Unifi Express and an 8-port UniFi switch with PoE, making it easy to integrate the U6+.Setup was incredibly straightforward—essentially plug-and-play. After connecting the U6+ to my UniFi switch, the device was detected instantly in the UniFi controller. A few quick configuration steps later, my network was up and running with strong, consistent coverage throughout my home.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how seamlessly the U6+ integrated into my UniFi setup. It’s a solid investment for anyone serious about their network performance and reliability.
