The lab server gave an error repeatedly while trying to return the test for analysis and support through Amazon said I have to call to get a return label but the lab is only open 9 to 5 Monday through Friday or about those times and the test must be returned within 7 days to be accurate. There has to be a better way.

So this comes with a prepaid shipping box. I followed all the instructions to the letter. I shipped it the same afternoon I ended the test. The results came back as "no result" because they got it back too late. So I am penalized because they chose to use USPS? It also asks if there is precipitation during the test. The first few hours of a 3 day long test it snowed so I checked the yes box. There was no way to say how long it precipitated for it was either yes or no. Not very scientific. So they also it was too wet to give a result. I live high in the mountains in Colorado. Even when it is snowing the humidity is not over 20% (that's low). This is an update to my original review: Yes they didn't get the kit back in time due to a failure by USPS and they did say that the humidity was too high, but they are sending me a replacement kit so at least they stand behind their product.

I wanted to test two rooms in our basement. One was the storeroom where there is a sump and I expected that to be higher than a bedroom on the opposite corner of the basement. It took me a while to run the tests because it should not be windy during the period and I also wanted a period when there would be little traffic in the basement. The two packs need to be placed next to each other 4 inches apart.I started the test on a Friday evening just before we went to bed and finished early Monday morning when we got up. That enabled me to get the delivered to the Post Office for shipping first thing Monday morning. The lab received both boxes each of two test packs two days later on the Wednesday. I used the free postage that comes as part of the deal, even though a few other people had trouble with the test kits not getting to the lab within the 8 days to get valid results. I live in Longmont, Colorado about 40 miles outside Denver and the Post Office worked for me.I received my first email with results early Thursday afternoon (just over three days after I shipped them). The second set of test results never came. I just called the 888 number and they checked and shipped the missing results to me. The service was good on the follow up. I am not sure why it was never sent in the first place. I did not ask; I was happy to get the results. Now for the news that I think is less than good:I expected the results of each pair to be very similar and was even more surprised by the results I just got. Since the test kits are placed just 4 inches apart, I expected that they would both measure similarly tainted air and get similar results. Not so!The Bedroom opposite the storeroom with the sump had test results of pCi/L = 8.0 and 7.2 averaging 7.6. That was high enough that we went straight ahead and had a mitigation system installed (4.0 is considered the limit). I was, however, surprised that the readings were so different. When I received the results of the storeroom with the sump I was even more surprised at the difference. The results were higher (as expected, being near the sump), but they were IMO too far apart for me to trust the tests fully. Perhaps this is why they suggest having two tests 4 inches apart. For the record, the storeroom with the sump had test results of pCi/L = 11.1 and 4.9 averaging 8.0.The company that installed our mitigation system provided a test for follow up and it looks like it might be better although there is only one test kit in the pack. I'll update this review once I have run the test and received the results. In case anyone is interested, the new test kit is from Air Chek, Inc. - [...]

I needed an easy and quick radon test for my basement and this product fit the bill quite nicely. Since it comes with two canisters and is a "short term" test, it is an ideal product to use for real estate transactions. In my case, I just wanted to get a good idea of my radon levels. I followed the "closed house" directions and placed the canisters in my basement. I exposed the canisters for 59 hours and then sent them off using the postage paid box. Three days later I retrieved my test result via their website. I also received results via email. This is about as easy as it gets. I will be testing yearly and I will be using this product again.

Set up the samplers as described and returned them via the package and delivery method supplied. They say it took over 8 days to get the kit, and since it was passed the 8 day limit the test is invalid. This company supplies all of the materials and shipping. They say it should take between 3 and 5 days to get the kits for their testing, but suggest that one use a more expedient means of mailing other that what they supply. Assuming the kits didn't sit in their testing lab, then the post office took over 7 days for it to get there. One would think that this company would provide a shipping method that guarentees that the kits get returned in time and not make it a gamble for the customer. There's $40 out the door.

We received the test kit on Thursday and followed the easy instructions. We mailed the kit back on Sunday and I just received results today, Thursday. The report looks professional. The kit instructions were clear, precise, and easy to follow. The return mailer had everything needed to mail the kit back including postage. I am glad I did this and used this kit to get results back quickly because my results indicate action needs to be taken to reduce radon. I am grateful to get results quickly and reliably so I can start the process to fix my particular problem. Thanks!
