After purchasing 2 others and not working I was ready to give up. My cousin recommended this one. He has it and also bought for his mom. I thought I’d take the chance and send back if not. Just hooked up, super simple instal. Works great! I have to now figure out all of the channels because it seems like it actually shows quite a bit!! Crystal clear picture!

I don’t watch local TV often, but occasionally there are shows, news, or programs I want to tune into. Since I only watch sporadically, I didn’t want to commit to monthly subscription fees, so I decided to try this antenna. It’s been a great choice!Once placed in the right spot, it provides access to a variety of popular channels like ABC, NBC, FOX, and even some less mainstream ones. I’m in NYC, and the reception is generally excellent. The setup was easy, and it’s perfect for someone who wants a budget-friendly way to watch local TV without ongoing costs. The only downside is that on windy, rainy, or snowy days, the signal can get a bit unstable, which is a minor inconvenience. Despite that, I’m very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, cost-effective solution for local TV.

I bought an 8 bay multidirectional antenna to put in the attack for a couple hundred bucks. This $30 window antenna gets 3 times the channels. Very impressive. From J2W2Z3 I get all the local French and English channels plus ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX. No PBS unfortunately.

There are a couple of things to know: First, with digital TV reception, there are no "shades of grey", that is, the picture is either received and decoded completely and displayed perfectly, or you get pixilation, freezing, or no picture at all. Ads that show fuzzy reception with inferior antennas are bogus. Second, claims of 200, 300 even 400 mile range are ludicrous. Perhaps, if you were located on a mountain top with a clear line of site path between the TV tower and antenna, you "might" see 100 mile range under ideal atmospheric conditions. Run like the wind from any manufacturer claiming these extreme ranges. Amazon should know better and ban this very misleading advertising.Having said all that, I purchased this antenna / amplifier combo and am quite pleased with its performance. I can't speak to it's suitability for outdoor mounting, but it comes sealed in a thin cellophane-like pouch that doesn't look like it would stand up well outdoors, long term. I live on a ridge in a rural area with an unobstructed view of a metropolitan area 40 miles distant. The antenna is located well inside my home, receiving virtually all TV stations in the area, which is to say in that direction with the antenna broadside to the towers there, without the amplifier powered on. You can use the antenna without the amp by simply unplugging the power and the signal will play through. Because I'm in a a weak cell phone area I use signal boosting cell phone amps inside my house. I found that connection a couple of "LTE filters", one on the output side of the antenna and one at the TV's input, I was able to receive a couple of weaker stations that didn't pop up without the filters in line. Strong cell phone signals can interfere with the amplifier's ability to boost weaker TV signals. The same performance boost would probably be the case if you lived very close to a cell tower. Switching in the amplifier made a marginal difference in obtaining a couple of weaker stations, but again, if you are reliably receiving the channels you normally watch there is no reason to amplify their signals. If one or more of these channels is at or near the minimum threshold of perfect digital reception, as evidenced by signal disruption (pixilation) during heavy rain or snow, etc.) having the amp available (in line but powered off until needed) is a nice feature of this combo. Also, if the amplifier is used with an already strong signal you will overdrive the front end of your TV's tuner and lose the channel entirely. In all, I rate this antenna five star for my particular application.

I recently upgraded my entire multimedia center in my bedroom and was looking to find my Panasonic 32 inch LED (1080p) a suitable home where it would be put to good use. Its a good TV and still in prime condition and after 5+ years of flawless service, I was not satisfied to just sell it off for a little extra cash in my pocket willy nilly. It took a while but eventually one of my regular patrons (sweet middle aged lady) let slip that she has been living without a TV for almost 4 years. Unfortunately, her modest earnings barely allows her to afford cable and living in the basement makes it hard for the built in Tuner to catch any signals.Enter this Digital Antenna, I have owned a few of these over time when I first cut my cord and I can say reliably that they work as advertised. As soon as you connect it to the TV and scan, you will get at least 40 digital channels to view. Your entertainment mileage may vary as most of the channels tend to be basic news or Spanish channels that may or maynot have dual audio. However, for someone living on a phone, this was a big step up and she has been enjoying the access. The item arrived next day as advertised and very good condition. Packaging has become an issue as of late it seems for many but I have been very fortunate so far as I never had to worry about any of my orders being damaged in anyway and has always been reliable. The package came with all the basic necessities to get you all set up right away. While it did come with an instruction manual you have to be real special to actually need it to set up anything. If you have set up your TV before, this is a no brainer. You have the choice to directly connect to the antennae but if the signal is not clear/weak you can attach the provided amplifier that might improve the quality of the signal. Its always best to have the flat head of the device facing towards the winow or preferable outwards towards the nearest towers direction. This might require you to move the antenna around a bit till the picture is consistent.Since this only has access to a coaxial cable (cable jack), picture quality might be limited to 1080i @ 30 Hz. This is more than enough for regular TV, those looking for something with higher fidelity should look for devices that have HDMI + ports for 1080p @60 and above. Also when scanning, you should opt to skip the analog channels as cable went digital collectively around the 2010 and you will find nothing on there. Its a waste of time unless you have some UHF capability and even then its a gamble. The digital scanning will atumatically set up the 40+ channels available in you area and you should be good to go.Unfortunately its not perfect and despite the best location you will occasionally have to deal with artifacts and degredation quality depending on the weather outside. Strong winds and rain will definitely affect quality. While the antennae head is purported to be water proof the radio frequencies are not and will interfere. You best bet is to position it as high towards the ceiling by the window pref inside but better chances tend to be outside of the wall. Its been a week or so and when I ran into the lady she was very greateful for the TV and forced a couple of dollars into my hand. I told her it was never about money and tried to give it back to her but she wouldn't hear it and walked out the door before I could give it back to her.
