This bearing puller set is about 1/2 the price of other sets, but worked just fine. I used it to remove the front wheel bearings on my 2015 BMW F800GT - The right bearing is “blind” so you can’t remove it with a drift. This bearing puller allowed me to easily remove the right bearing, and proceed with the project.

I purchased this toolset to help me remove the bearings from the front wheel of my Honda ST1300, and it got the job done! Originally, I purchased the Motion Pro 08-0269, but the split collet didn't have enough grip to remove my bearings. A friend suggested that I rent a blind-bearing puller, but the local auto parts stores didn't have the size collet I needed. Moreover, the cost to rent the slide hammer alone was $46. After comparing Tusk, Pit Posse, and Motion Pro blind bearing removal tools, I elected to go with the Tusk. It was reasonably priced at $77, which is less than half the price of the Motion Pro set.I have no regrets, and I would not hesitate to recommend this tool to DYI'ers like myself. Since I only used it to remove two bearings, I cannot comment on the durability of this set. However, the collet showed little sign of wear. The collets with the set I received were not marked with sizes, but the case was clearly marked with each collect size.

I've always been wary of buying specialty tools from Amazon/China, especially ones that require a good amount of sturdiness, but this actually surpassed my expectations.I've used it a couple times now to pull motorcycle wheel bearings, and it not only *didn't* explode when I tried to use it, it actually pulled each bearing smoothly in about 3 or 4 hits. There was no give or freeplay between the tool and the bearing once it was tightened down, so all of your energy from the slide hammer was going straight where it needed to go. The tool grabbed on to the inner race of the bearing evenly and completely, which means the bearing wasn't marred or deformed by the process. The tool was easy to remove from the bearing once it popped out, and I haven't noticed any signs of damage, wear, or deformation. I've been using makeshift solutions to pull bearings in the past, and this is by far not only easier, but somewhat satisfying to use. Well worth the money.

Removing seized bearings from the wheels of a 1970's motorcycle is impossible without the proper tool. Fortunately, this is the proper tool. I used the largest collet for the cush drive bearing and one of the smaller sizes for the remaing three bearings. Getting 8 different collets with the slap hammer at the price I paid was awesome because it eliminated any guesswork in sizing and potential delays. The well made, injection molded plastic case is adequate for storing your puller set and keeping it all in one place. The bearings I needed to remove had been in for over thirty years and from the constant heating and cooling along with the corosion from the outer bearing race, were not going to just pop out. I looked the wheels over for a bit and decided that the thought of pounding them out with a drift was just as stupid as it sounds rite now typing this. It would have destroyed the wheels and the bearings and definately my attitude. So.... I looked up bearing pulling tools on Youtube and, after thirty minutes or so, I came upon the video for the Tusk bearing puller. Twenty minutes later and I had one ordered. I went back out to the garage and sprayed the bearings down with penetrating oil and put them away. Three days later the UPS guy shows up and I walked out to the garage and in twenty more minutes I had 5 old worn out bearings laying on my shop table and wheels ready for plugging and sand blasting. Now, if your going to repack bearings, I'd just pack them in place and call it a day as almost any method for removing the bearing is likely going to damage the bearing and shorten its' life span. Yes even the Tusk bearing puller is going to put a great deal of force on the inner bearing surface in a way that was not intended for anything other than replacement. But... If you are goin to replace the bearings then this is the tool you need. This is definately a well made tool with an extremely funtional case at a price that beats shop costs by the second time you use it. Oh...and if you have a few friends who need some bearings pulled, you can do it for free and be almost as awesome as the Tusk bearing pulling tool is.
