I had a problem with the hydraulic cylinder on this Hydraulic Shop Press but did not develop a problem with it until sometime after the return period had expired. I contacted Tuffiom and they sent me a replacement cylinder at no charge and did not request a return of the original cylinder. They are a super supplier, and I highly recommend their products.

Used press to install new gears in mini mill. Setup makes it easy to hold parts with one hand while pumping / releasing with the other. Hydraulic oil dribbling out reservoir will require disassembly and tape / tighten / loosen / retape / tighten session to make sure mounts are lined up when tightened. Prolly why it leaked from factory.

Some worry that one day the Tiger from the East will raise an army millions strong and conquer the world. I’m here to reaffirm that while they might raise an army of millions, that army would be equipped with products made in the same factories and in the same manner as this piece of crap. The West needn’t worry.Arrived damaged with broken parts. Yes as others have said you have to pretty much disassemble and retake EVERY threaded connection, including the main cylinder. I knew that going in. The 1 star is due to the fact that the ram itself leaks. The internal seal within the ram is total junk and the tolerances the ram is machined to make me think my 4 year old was running the lathe.I reached out to the seller and expected a new pressure gauge and a new ram cylinder. The gauge showed up about a month later but still no ram cylinder. So now I’m left with a frame, a $300 frame. Thanks Tiger.Save yourself the headache and buy a better model from a reputable local store where you can physically see what you’re getting before pulling the trigger.

The Good:* All major pieces arrived* No major leaks.* Taped points never leaked.* Pound / dollar it's still cheaper to buy and fix this.* Fixing most of it is not difficult, but takes some knowledge.The Bad:* Came in pieces rattling around with a hole. Cannot say more on this because Amazon doesn't like it.* Paint was chipped in many places.* Missing lock washers.* Pump handle rattles without using washers as spacers.* Missing a large rubber O-ring in the pump cylinder. Minor leak just sitting unpressurized.* Piston leaks some oil when put under pressure. Have not disassembled it yet, but it is likely also missing a seal.* You will have to look up how to bleed the system before use. This is the same for all presses like this, but is not immediately apparent.

This unit is built very well and the after sale support was outstanding. I highly recommend this unit.

I bought this to work on smaller things like pinions and driveshafts for a few old cars I’m working on.In general it’s a good press. But, here are my issues and why I deducted a star.The collars that hold the press cylinder in place don’t have any detents or notches to hold on to while trying to tighten everything down. Sure, you can use a pipe wrench…but why?You will also need to unscrew anything you see with teflon tape on it, and thoroughly clean the threads, retape AND add a liquid thread sealant on top of that if you don’t want leaks from here back to China where this thing was made. Mine leaked oil like a family style bucket of Chicken from KFC.Lastly the press blocks are about useless on this thing. I went to the “other” popular auction site to get press blocks I could actually use.Overall this is a nice press if you have the time and ability to fix the things I listed.

All good but the severely loose cylinder.The ram won’t stop leaking even after tightening the jam nut on the seal.The cylinder ram seems to have a smaller diameter than needed. The ram end needed turned on the lathe to make it fit properly on the ram end to be square.Of the cylinder didn’t leak I would be happyI sent a message and will follow up with what happens.UPDATE. seller took care of the problem very fastI am completely satisfied
