I got these to use on my spider enclosures; they are the perfect size, but they are too weak to work through a thin piece of acrylic. They work well enough on a fridge to hold a piece of paper, but I wouldnt trust them to hold anything heavier than a few pieces of paper

They're about as strong as hard drive magnets if you've taken one apart. There's plenty of size choices and I'm seeing a lot of people complaining they're too small, too weak, etc. The measurements are in millimeters. 1mm is very very thin, 1mm is about as wide as a small paper clip. Not the whole clip, as wide as the wire itself. The first option that's selected by default is 3 x1mm. That's 3mm wide, 1mm thick, about the size of the little button tip of an AA battery if you chopped it off. Knowing that, they're good magnets, the bigger they are, the more magnetic force they have.Also, if you do buy very thin ones, don't pry them apart if you want one magnet from the stack. You need to push it off so they don't snap on you. They're nickel plated so they look like a tough metal but neodymium is very brittle.

Not sure I understand all the people complaining how small these are. I mean, it's 3x1mm magnets which are approximately 3x1mm which is really quite small. I ordered these specifically to use in crafts made with a laser (specifically, custom gift card holders that swing open with a Chicago screw at one corner and these tiny magnets at a couple other corners to hold it shut). The only issues I encountered were 1. dropping one and not immediately finding it (a palette knife waved over the floor solved that issue) and 2. making sure the opposite poles were properly installed in the little divots engraved for them so that they attracted each other when the holder was swung closed. I was completely happy with how well they worked for the purpose and they're definitely quite strong considering their small size.

I usually order from other sites where it's a fraction of the cost. Because it's magnets... And that's where they come from anyways...The quality of these tho.. I'm only disappointed because I'm going to have to adjust my budgets to buy these magnets now because there really is a quality difference.
