These Chicago Screws were purchased to bind craft paper sample packs, which will allow additions in the future. I was surprised and please at the high quality finish to these screws-they are not hardware store screws but satin polished aluminum silver. I am very pleased and highly recommend these Chicago Screws.

Those who have rated this product poorly obviously didn't know they were buying the wrong item. These are aluminum and not carbon steel. These are meant to hold sheets of paper together, and should not be used on any projects that require a lot of torque, and especially not on items that would place your life in danger if they failed. Again these are aluminum. If you require something stronger, purchase the carbon steel version. A great product when use properly.

They do their job, but they're not the best quality. the screw has a flat head end, and the female end has no slotted head at all. This posed a slight problem as I needed to put a tool on both ends to tighten them. They are made from cheap, soft metal, so I couldn't really torque down on them without the head just twisting off. They will work fine for extremely light duty applications, but for anything else, pass on these for sure.

Awful! Used on my bridle once and it snapped with barley any pressure on it. If I would have been barrel racing mid run the damage could have been sever for both my horse and I. On top of that they screw together poorly and most of them wouldn't stay together.

Be warn, you'll need a large flat screw driver to turn this screw. It's a very soft aluminum and easily damage the screw slot. Since it comes at cheap price for large quantity, there's plenty of spare to go around. I use a penny as a screwdriver after a few strip and mar to the screw slot. There are some metal and chrome ones much tougher, but I like the feel of the light aluminum.

We like the product and like the idea we can get quanity at a reasonable price. It has made the project easier.
