About this item

  • Water-based antiquing color wash solution designed to provide the natural, two-toned, mottled effect normally obtained by the use of colored release agents. Same effect, but without the mess.
  • This powder is designed to mix with water and be applied as a liquid wash coat. Color will run off the highest spots and settle in the low spots for nice contrast.
  • 1500-3000 square feet per bucket based on blend strength.
  • Will work with concrete, overlayment and microtoppings. Very easy to apply.
  • Also the best choice for rejuvenating existing textured surfaces that have faded over time. When all older sealer is removed, you apply according to the instructions, let it dry and you can then reseal the surface with your chosen Walttools sealer product such as Heal and Seal D2k and your surface is as good as new.

How to use Tru Tique Concrete Antiquing Agent is quite simple: Thoroughly clean the concrete surface before applying Tru Tique. Any existing sealer must be removed if being used on older concrete surfaces. The surface should be free from all sealers, dirt, oil, paint, moss, dust, and other contaminates. Though etching is usually not necessary, bear in mind that the preferred surface is similar to that when applying concrete sealer. We recommend dampening the surface before you apply the Tru Tique especially in hotter weather since since the hot concrete surface will absorb and dry the material quickly. Pour one gallon of clean water into a 5-gallon pail, add 1, 2, or 3 scoops (up to 6 ounces) of Tru Tique powder to the water and mix briskly, making sure all powder is dissolved in the bucket. The more mix you add, the more intense the pigment. Add the mix to a pump sprayer that has a large tip opening and apply evenly over the entire surface. If you do not have a sprayer with an adequate tip you may also use something as simple as a garden watering can. You will need to continuously shake the sprayer to minimize settling of the mixture. A large push broom is often used to help move the product uniformly over the surface. If no broom is available and heavy puddles occur, you can remove the excess with a wet sponge. Once it dries and you see what you have, re-wetting and brushing with a broom can be used to remove material from high spots thereby increasing the contrast of the surface. Once complete allow the Tru Tique wash to dry for 12-24 hours and seal with your favorite Walttools Sealer.

I purchased this with the hopes that it would revive my stamped sidewalk and patio, and I am very impressed with how well it worked.I did no prep other than pressure washing and it might not be perfect, but for the amount of work that went into this I have no complaints. It's very easy to work with I just did 3 scoops of powder per 1 gallon of water. Brushed it out, waited a day and sealed it with the leftover sealer from my driveway.I highly recommend!

I applied the copper per directions and when dry, looked like a pumpkin vomited all over my patio

I was disappointed in this product because the color I received was more like a navy blue, not the turquoise blue like the photo.

This product is easy to use and works well as long as you follow the directions. Filled the cracks and the color blended well with my patio so the cracks are barely noticeable now. Have not resealed the patio yet, will have to see how it looks afterwards.

Watched a YouTube video on application, which looked simple, so I bought a bucket of the powder. I went with Charcoal color since it was what we had originally and had faded, even with deck sealer applied often. Mixes with water and is applied with a sprayer or gardening water can. Use the water can as it prevents splashing and covers more area quicker. Dried and sealed with a good quality sealer. Next time will add main coat and then do a second sans stone color on top, like they did in video, to give it even more character.

We were fairly happy with the color; however, we discovered we needed two other products to complete our concrete patio job. We had to purchase a "release" agent so the texturing skin wouldn't stick to the concrete, and we had to purchase a concrete sealer. This was our fault that we didn't check into things further before making our purchase.
