Needed a null modem cable to filelink data from one computer to another. I'd had good use of all the Tripplite products I'd used in the past so when saw this was available for my needs I knew it would do the job for years to come. Absolutely no problems with the order, service and the product. Might be bit higher priced than competition; but I'm sure I'll be able to pull this cable out of my desk drawer 10 yrs down the road and it'll work just like new.

This is a nice cable. But, most importantly for me, the exact loopback pinout is specified in the description. If you are interfacing to an old device, this can be important.Prior to this cable, I purchased a cable from somewhere else that claimed to have a "standard" loopback. It didn't work. If there is a standard, I still don't know what it is. But, it doesn't matter. Tell me the pinout, and I can determine if it will work for me.

Works good! I use it a lot connecting to routers and switches with DB-9 console ports that require a null-modem cable to connect to it. It's long enough so that it reaches the port I'm connecting to when I'm squatting in front of the rack. I use it in conjunction with the TRENDnet USB to RS-232-C DB-9 connector cable. I'm happy that I bought it. Good! Ugh! Good! Yes! Buy now!

I had a cord like this that came with some programming equipment somehow it was misplaced the company would send me a new one for $80. I on a whim ordered this one for a lot less than that and it worked just fine.

If you're looking for a serial cable to put pfsense on your firebox or control your level 3 switch -- this is the one. Great deal, have had great success with tripp-lite products except the description of their rack-screws. Their best deal on Amazon is the plug extenders that let you plug in all the wall warts (power transformers) into a mini extension so that you can use all the spots on your power strip.

The cable works as advertised. Very secure connections, sturdy design. I used it to connect a PC to some PLC Processor cards for a flashing procedure. The transfer speed was typically slow, as is to be expected of any serial cable connection. However, the flashing process was carried out with no issues or problems. I highly recommend this product for similar applications

Here's the good news: This cable arrived in good time and in good condition. It works. Here's the bad news: It was NOT the product advertised. It is not a Tripp-Lite brand cable. It is not gold plated/pins. It was a cheap cable that came in a plain plastic baggie. Not even a manufacturer name.I wouldn't care if it were just advertised as null modem cable PERIOD. Then I wouldn't care. It was cheap and works. But It burns me when someone completely lies about what the're selling. Glad it wasn't an automobile I was purchasing. Instead of a 2010 Mercedes, I'd have gotten a 1983 chevette.
