The Line is international orange nylon line. a spool fits nicely out of the way in a pocket or clipped-off to a D-ring. The holes in the side allow for clipping in a double-ended snap anywhere along the perimeter of the spool to keep the line tight when not in use.

Went scallop diving, it was great to know this, attached to my flag, was always there. I'll use it for future caves/wrecks diving with the knowledge of my safety.

I took off about 75 feet of line so i could use the holes on the side to clip into. This is a good enough reel for most dives I will take, when all i am going to use it for is putting up a signal during my safety stop at 15 feet. Takes 1-2 breaths to inflate. It is not big enough to really lift anything, but that is what I wanted. The big ones are too big to fit in my BCD pocket. I don't like too many flappy snag hazards on my rig.

Exactly as advertised and does exactly what it’s meant to do. Great product for the price.I bought the 100’ of line, knowing I would actually want about 75’ for my SMB. I immediately cut off 25 feet of line which I saved for securing bolts snaps, etc. Re-tied a loop at the end so I could pass the reel through after attaching it to my SMB. Taking off the 25’ of line, exposes the holes well enough for the bolt snap to snap in to.Comes with a brass double end snap hook as advertised. Since I’m primarily using this in freshwater, brass works just fine for me.

didn't even know how to use this, but experienced divers approved and showed us how. This is safety tech, a rope is a rope, until you need it. Thankfully we did not, but it was there and the design makes it very accessible and and easy to dive with

This is part of the equipment I usually take on a dive as it is attached to my BCD along with the "dive sausage". I've used it a couple of years over 200 or so dives but have only really "used" it 3 or 4 times. Has always worked great. In my opinion you shouldn't dive without a finger reel and a dive sausage. In my opinion, the training for open water dive in PADI should include proper deployment of a dive sausage on a finger reel with a 3 minute stop at 15 feet.

A nice inexpensive finger reel to keep in your BC pocket for an SMB or similar tasks.Overstuffed with line, as usual - I got the "medium 100 feet" size and you couldn't properly attach the double-ender through the spool holes as they were all blocked. In the end i took some out and got about 40 useful feet out of it.The included brass double-ender is a little "rough" in operation, and also a smaller size (about 4" - see attached photo). So if you're used to the size of a 4.5" stainless and have large hands it may be a bit small to manipulate with gloves on.One star also taken off because the product photo shows a stainless boltsnap, even though the description says "brass"

Well made, affordable finger spool with nice brass clip. Beware that if you buy the bigger size/more line, you will need to actually cut off a far amount of line to actually be able to rig it and use the side holes. This effectively greatly diminishes the amount of line you can put on the spool. If you need a spool with longer line/the actual advertised length I would go with something else. Also note the center hole for the finger spool is quite small and is very difficult to use with dry gloves.

This is a very handy finger reel for rigging dive lines to underwater wrecks or almost anything you can think of. The brass clip and heavy synthetic line make it great for salt water use also. I just received it a week or so ago and have already used it 3 times in an area where the current was very strong and I tied it from the boat anchor and swam out to the wreck so my dive buddies could just follow the line in a 7 knot current. It might not sound like a lot, but if you let go you will surface about 100 yards from where you started. This is a very easy to use device and for the price it's a steal! Some folks think that when you attach the word SCUBA to a product you can charge people a fortune, but this is a great deal for professionals and beginners. You might even find a use for it around the house. I would recommend this product to any serious diver that has safety as a top priority!
