I work with epoxy resin and the chemicals that are air borne are so detrimental to your health that you MUST wear a mask . These filters work fantastically. The other brand, which shall remain nameless, didn't work that well. I had started to get headaches after wearing the mask and mixing up the resin. So far, with THIS brand, I've gotten ZERO headaches after mixing the resin.UPDATE: Just bought a second set!!

The important thing here is the mask, not the filter. See my review on the mask.That said, the filter does catch a lot of stuff that I didn't realize I was breathing while welding, grinding, and working with wood. I'm glad to have it! They are small, so their capacity is limited especially if you're working in a particle-heavy environment. I strongly recommend having a spare set or two on hand, as you'll note a degradation in breathing quality very quickly when the filter has reached its capacity.

Hepa is always a good upgrade for any mask. Actually never found a mask that even offers it. So am going to try it and see how that goes. Will try and come back and report how they actually work.
