Easy to install, no idea if it fixed the problem yet, intermittent trailer brake warning, it only happens every now and then, but is annoying when it happens.. at least I know it hasnโt gotten any worse after replacing this, for the price and ease of installation itโs worth a shot before getting into the wiring harness ..Update, over six months since install and no trailer brake warning, Iโm calling it repaired at this point. If there were any other issues Iโm sure it would have shown up by now.

It fit right in I assume it works I changed it because the message on the dash was on and it's still on so it didn't fix my issue but I can't say it was the problem

2016 silverado. Had a problem with my trailer brakes, thought it was the trailer or wiring at first. Watched some online videos about this going bad easily (the GM stock one) so figured why not try it for 20$ give or take..... and sure enough it fixed all my issues. Popped off the cabs fuse panel, the panel holding the brake control switch. Popped the new one in easy as it gets only used a screw driver to pull the old knobs off and the clips holding it in... great product saved me alot of money!! Thanks

First important info: keep your existing module until everything is working. You'll need the little lever handle things, and I needed more.I'll just start by saying that it fixed my issue; I was getting the Service Trailer Brake System warning, and ruled out corrosion or broken wires at either end. So, this was my next thing to try.Unfortunately, the plastic housing of this does not match the existing one. Fortunately, both housings were made in such a way that I could get them open and apart. So I took them both apart and compared the boards; they were identical. So I just put the new board in the old housing and everything is dandy. That made it a bit harder to install than it really should have been, but I'm happy it is all working. And it was inexpensive too. I guess a shop would have got the correct part, charged me like $60 for the part, and $120 to $300 for labor, and got the same result.

Service trailer brake system kept popping up on dash. Took 5 minutes to install and everything was good to roll. I suggest getting the plastic interior tools though if you care about marking up your dash or breaking clips

It work on my GMC Sierra 2015 but not right away. After several starts I always had the ''Ding Ding Ding'' with the message in the dash. After a 100 km ride on hwy, the ding ding and the message had stop!! It look like the computer jn the truck need a certain time or several starts to erase or reset the error code (message and sound).
