I have one of these mounted on my door so I can schedule my living room lights to turn on automatically after sunset, which works great for anytime we arrive later in the day, or to spot anytime someone opens the door opens in the evening.The setup was seamless. it comes with 3m sticky strips. (The device is not magnetic and would not stick to our metal door). We’ve been using it for several months without a hiccup. This is probably my favorite and most discreet tape device in the house. Definitely a great alternative to the motion sensors for a door operation.

I wanted a little added security without adding a whole security system, so these and a hub. Not a great alternative, but nobody can get inside the house quietly.Alexa routines work good too, Alexa announces when said door is open, like the back or front door. I have it set up to where if I’m not home and the door is opened, the alarm goes off. When I do arrive home, the main door has a 30 second delay so it gives me time to tell Alexa to stop (automations within the Tapo app, use those automations with routines in the Alexa app, those automations are listed as scenes in the Alexa app). Or at night time or home, all doors sound the alarm if opened except the primary door.I’m not seeing the delay others have said it has, it’s connected locally to the hub and not over the cloud, so you theoretically should get an immediate tone from the hub. Alexa does have a half second delay or so, but that’s because Alexa is through the cloud, not local.

This door sensor works perfectly within the TP- Link app and hub, but also links with my Amazon Echo Show 15 via the TP-Link hub. Excellent product!

Easy install. It hooked up to the speaker box without any trouble.I use it primarily for when the door doesn't fully latch and the wind blows the door open releasing the pets.

Installed on my front and rear house doors to know when they are open, or to know if they are left open at any time. Paired with my Tapo smart hub, I was able to install these in 5 minutes. It was so simple.I created an automation so that if a door sensor goes off in the night, my Tapo smart hub sounds an alarm. It's a great theft deterrent and works every time.These are the ones. Tapo is amazing. Get it!

Was only able to get one so far, but it works really well!Have a bit of gap between them, the magnet side sticks out about 0.5in further from the sensor, no issues.Buy extra batteries if you live near a lot of smart meters. Interference on 900 MHz kills battery quickly.

The product works fine. I’m a little disappointed in the material they chose for securing this product so it looses a star for that. It’s ~1/4 inch thick white foam with adhesive on both ends, when they should have used silicone based that adhesive that is stronger and removable without damage. The one pieces sags a little because of the foam and hits the other piece when I open the window and knocks it off the wall, I had to replace it with proper silicone adhesive tape. I know why they sent it with the thick foam blocks to make it easier to mount on products that don’t have a even surface or one surface is higher than the other, but in those cases they should include an extension shim or something instead. I’ve had them up and running for months and they are all working fine. I don’t use these for security. I have another system for that, these are just used to identify if any windows have been left open quickly via the app.
