Great for apartments. Super easy to install. Instructions are great. App is very intuitive and everything just works. I hope they don’t discontinue this product again

I took about a month to fully review this product. Here is what I think about the peephole/door bell.Overall a very good product. I will say that there are a few improvements that could be done. Below I'll go over some pros and cons that I have noticed. There are not many cons for what you get.Environment/elements the camera was tested in: Apartment complex, door opens to outdoors, no hallway, day and night application, 1st floor, high person traffic, hot and cold (34 was the lowest), rain, bright sun, cloudy, high wind. The door is covered so some element protection.Pros:Easy to connect to app and internet.Clear video and images (could be better, still good)Battery does last a while even with a lot of settings turned up along with sensitivity high.Door bell works wellNight vision does very well when in low light. All tools needed to install are in the box.Easy to install on the door. The knock sensor is really nice.Good quality materials. Can change out the face plate.Battery swap is easy, it doesn't take too long to come back online when swapping. Can have a privacy block on the video.Depending on your setup, it can give you a better view (wider) than the doorbell.Cons:The sensor has a delay when picking up people. The delay in pushing the doorbell to phone notification. I got it, it could be internet and phone service.Overall, good product and great features for cost.Note: take your time installing when pushing through the door peephole. The ribbon is sensitive.Last con-Paying for the new save your videos (a/o 23MAR23)Kind of a scam to have everyone pay their videos. Make a "free" feature get everyone on board and then dump that, c'mon. Okay rant done.

The Ring Peephole cam is an easy to install, effective and cost efficient home security device. With a price tag of $129, at time of purchase, you can start with this or add to an existing Ring system. They have Doorbell cams, Spotlight cams, everywhere you can cam.I was surprised how quickly and easily I was able to remove the old peephole and install the cam. The kit provides everything you'll need. A fancy key tool. That key tool is also the only tool you'll need for this install. I don't know your previous experience with peephole removal or installation, for me it was my first, but I was impressed how simple it was to do both with that fancy key tool. The kit provides you with stupid simple step by step instructions. They'll walk you through the removal of paint from the old peephole, to the connecting of the battery and placing of the back cover once you are all done. Simple and easy. It took a total of ten minutes to install and connect. I had a little issue connecting to my Wifi, but that was easily remedied. You will need to download the Ring app, found in your favorite app store, to complete the installation. There is a QR code you'll be scanning before you put on the back cover, just so you know. The app is how you control your new cam. Where you see who is at your front door, when you aren't home. There are a few neat features you can play with to fine tune what is picked up and what isn't.You can also look for the Ring Skill in the Alexa app so you can ask any of your Show devices to display your front door. Even your Fire TV cube will display a live feed. The video quality is pretty good, no matter how you are viewing. It's a fun thing to watch when you're bored of Netflix or YouTube.I've had to tinker with the motion sensitivity to find where I'll get the things I want and those I don't won't trip it. It's taken a few days but it works pretty well for the amount of traffic in my neighborhood. It's been a fun project to play with since we're all staying indoors these days.We likely add a couple more cams around from the line of Ring products available on Amazon. If not for the home security side of things, at least to see the outside while we're stuck inside. Windows only allow you so much. That's my review and my thoughts on the Ring Peephole cam. Enjoy
