Right up front, you probably wouldn't need this stuff for the use I put it to, but this is only the first use I have found for this. In case you don't recognize the metal monstrosity in the picture, it is a stand used to securely and safely hold a tuba resting on the floor without damage, when the horn is not sitting in my lap. My tuba is worth about $10,000 so I really care about keeping it secure and free of dents and scratches. The bottom pad in the middle holds the weight of the tuba, so it needs to be curved, flexible, secure, strong and smooth. The old padding was almost completely worn through and metal parts were on the verge of becoming exposed, thereby scratching up the instrument. This material is tough smooth and flexible. The version I got is 3" wide, which is exactly the width I needed to make this repair to the tuba stand. There is adhesive on one side and the repair only took a minute or so, including opening the package. I cut the strip to length, peeled off the backing and stuck it over the old cushioning material. The repair is about perfect for what I needed.Again, you probably don't need to fix a tuba stand, but I am already looking around my house for other ways to use this stuff. Some of them also involve the tuba and other instruments, but there are a lot of places that I might need to cover surfaces to add protection to the surface or protect other objects from damage from contact with those surfaces. I think most people could find uses for this stuff around their homes and I would advise you to think of the possibilities. Highly recommend!

So many uses for this- I'll be ordering multiple sizes for more projects. The adhesive is really to keep it in place during assembly, and not really meant to be the only thing holding an assembly together. It's strong enough to keep everything in place, but it can also peel off without a lot of trouble. Perfect for a moving assembly where you need a seal- such as a window sill or other similar place where one needs a seal. I also put this on the bottom of the speakers on my desk- there are SO many uses for this, I just used it to take the noise out of the metal doors on a cabinet in my garage... and I bet I'll find a way to use it dozens more ways by the time I need to order another roll. The quality is quite good, but I don't know to what I should compare- the only thing which MAY disappoint some is the adhesive is not super aggressive- but I prefer it that way.Four stars means BETTER than average, and more than just "satisfied" but happier than normal with this product. Excellent stuff, and I recommend it!

The neoprene material is soft and non-slipping for most materials. The thickness provides enough protective cushioning for lightweight applications. The adhesive is non-branded (i.e. 3M etc), and isn't heavy duty. It adhered to wood, metal, plastic, and paper. I was able to peel off the neoprene from all surfaces easily and without residue. The material was easy to cut with scissors and box knife. The adhesive didn't stick to the scissors.I would classify this product as light duty. The adhesion is not strong. Overall, it's a good good product in it's class. The material width provides plenty of versatility for application.

This is a bit pricy, but when they no longer make the insect guard stripping for a window type from the Mid-80's this might just do the job!I tried it out by first, cleaning the window sill with alcohol, and then applying two strips, one to the sill, and ond to the window itself. After cleaning, I first tried sticking a 1" piece of it to the sill. Well, it "Stuck like Glue!" The two strips did a good job of closing the gap! without hitting and tearing the stripping out. This stuff is a fairly dense rubber and should not degrade. I also think that if, in a number of years, it starts to pull loose, that it could be stapled or tacked in place.Since the manufacturer of the windows no longer makes the original product, this is likely as good a substitute as I can find.
