I was a little nervous after reading the reviews but decided to give it a go with my disc wheel. Popped it out of the packaging and connected it to the pump and then to the tire and all the remaining air escaped. Fiddled with it for a few minutes and thought, "WTF, the reviews were right." Then I found the instructions sealed inside the packaging and voila: connect to valve first then pump. It's a little tricky to get it to thread on to the valve and lock but after that no issues inflating.

Contrary to previous posts, this 90 degree presta adapter is the best one I’ve tried so far. I have the tried more expensive Zipp adapter and generic ones and this is the only one that doesn’t leak. Just make sure to follow the user’s guide. Bought a second one as a backup.

If using a manual bike pump this is very troublesome especially on a HED carbon fiber tri-spoke wheel. The adapter will screw in to the bike’s presta valve with no problem. It’s the other end that connects to the pump where the issue is. You can’t screw it in to the manual air pump even thought the adapter has threads. Because of this, you will need to hold the air pump valve to the adapter while you manually pump air or else it will come loose.If it is a compressor air pump it should have no problem, but if you use a manual air pump, holding the adapter and air pump valve together with one hand while pumping air with the other hand will be frustrating and very difficult. For this reason I’m returning this adapter.

I love it for my Zipp super-9 solid disk wheel. Works better and is half the price of the Zipp-sold adapter. In fact I have both - but never bothered to use the Zipp-branded adapter. Screw it onto presta valve without a pump attached - it does not leak air - thus great for one- person operation. Connect pump and pump without holding adapter in place.

Worked as advertised. I needed an elbow adapter for my HED tri-spoke rear wheel. I screwed the adapter onto the pista valve, then attached my floor pump to the adapter. Within a couple of minutes, my wheel was inflated and i was ready to ride! The screw applicator makes it each to attach to hard-to-reach valves (like that in my tri-spoke wheelset). Would recommend if you need to inflate awkwardly located tire valves.

Mixed bag. Really nice how it screws on so you don't need someone else to help with a finger to hold it on while you pump. But the flip side is that it's difficult to get properly screwed on the first time so it doesn't leak as you start getting up to pressure. Also can be tricky to get off without losing pressure. Definitely not the adapter you want to use when you're in a hurry and requires some practice to figure out.

Either I'm a complete idiot or this thing cannot possibly work.First, the part that attaches to the valve is quite long so that it defeats the purpose of using this. On my disc wheel it doesn't fit in the opening and touches the carbon part. If that was the only problem I could almost use it (by forcing a bit it sort of finds its way in).The second and much more concerning problem is that there is a TINY hole inside for the air to go through. This result in most of the air pressure staying BEFORE the adapter, and pretty much no pressure going in the valve. Basically, looking at the photo you think the air has all the room of the tube to go, but nope, right before the valve the exit inside is somehow microscopic for whatever reason.Returned. I have no idea how anyone can use this successfully.

I bought this specifically for use on disc wheels. It's not perfect, but I didn't have any way to get the tires up to proper pressure without it. I do have to "fiddle" with the alignment a bit, both on the tube valve and the pump. But once things are properly in place, it works like a charm and does not leak air! To be fair, not all of my problems are due to the adapter. There's not a lot of room to work on the valve in the discs, and this is a threaded adapter. But it allows for hands-off operation once it is properly seated. The internal one-way valve can also fight you a little bit while inflating, but it also helps protect your pressure while you unscrew everything. So I'd rather have it than not. The wheels I have are a royal pain to inflate, and this tool definitely makes it much better. I would definitely buy again.
