The product is great and fits nicely on my Giant. You have to be mechanically inclined a little bit to make it fit.The reason for two stars is that the picture shows a spring-loaded cargo retaining clamp, and it does not come with it. Another purchaser also gave the same review, and they have done nothing to correct it. It would be too much of a hassle to send it back.

mounted Topeak Explorer Rack MTX 2.0, non-disc brake version on to my E-bike Trek Domane + HP (disc brakes) with no problems other then started to cross thread one of the bolts in lower chain stay, my bad, so either version would work even on my other Trek Domane SLR, the Disc brake specific model having a stand-off makes its wider then needed on Treks, wanted to be able to carry spare battery for extended rides were one 500ah battery not might get me home. Rack looks well build and robust. Just have to be careful lining bolts holes so you don’t cross thread, and spend some time getting extension bars bent correctly to match upper chain stay 10-32 mounting threads

Bought one of these for myself recently - so impressed that I also bought one for OHs bike. Combined with the Topeak MTX DXP Trunk Bag (it slides on and clips to secure) they’re brilliant for keeping locks and other essentials in for everyday use. The rack itself is solid - we both recently went on a cycling holiday with heavy panniers attached - no problems whatsoever. Needed to slightly angle-grind a little of the lower mounting lugs to fit my OHs bike, but that was more about the poor placement of the brackets on her bike than the rack itself. Fitted mine with no adjustment/modification at all. Make sure you buy the correct version for your wheel size. Would definitely buy again, though shouldn’t need to as these should last a lifetime. Unless i exchange the OH….

The instructions that are included with this rack are not the best, or the easiest to understand. We actually watched a few videos online to help us. Although it was much easier to have 2 people helping, one person can do it. But overall we are really pleased with the end result - a super sturdy rear bike rack. We have another bike and will definitely purchase this same rack for that one.

I've had some form of Topeak MTX rack on most of my bikes for 15 years. They make great racks, the bag system is awesome and worth investing in for at least one bag. They'll hold way more than their rated weight in groceries or on tours. This one is a great example of Topeak racks, I have no doubt it'll outlive the bike.But the whole "disc" sizing has me confused. At time of writing this was a couple bucks cheaper than the regular for some reason, and the bike I'm putting it on has discs, so I thought why not?I expected the rack to be quite a bit wider, and it is, but the top part is exactly the same so the wideness doesn't actually help with hauling anything. Plus it has spacers where it connects to the dropout eyelets so the space between the vertical stays isn't any wider than a normal rack, I had to stretch it quite a bit to fit on this bike. You can't just chop off the spacers either, the mounting screws are sunk deep in them. In the end it just looks weird and overly wide compared to the "regular" explorer mtx rack.I'm sure I'll get used to it and none of this detracts from the function of the rack. I might recommend the regular one over this one unless you really need that specific clearance for some reason.

Fitted to specialized hybrid. A few variations of this model depending on wheel size and if you have brake discs or not. Sturdy once on and works well with compatible topeak bag.

I love the Topeak MTX system and currently use it on my old hybrid bike. I ordered this rack for my new fat tire bike so that I can use my existing MTX bag on it but was disappointed to find that this rack does not fit my new bike. This rack is not a 'one size, fits all' solution. Make sure this rack will fit your bike before ordering! It will save you time and disappointment.....Sadly, I returned mine.
