These mills are an exceptional value, but they are not Whiteside (nor would I expect that level of performance for this price) They are reliable and work reasonably well, but I would treat them as semi-disposable and would only recommend you use them a few times before they get too dull (or worse, break) I did have some issues with dulling after a lot of dense rubber milling, but none of them broke as some reviewers have stated. Just use them judiciously and you'll do fine.

I thought I would save a few $ and bought these for an aluminum part we have been running for years. These end mills lasted less than a minute before breaking. Broke 2 of them back to back, put a YG end mill in and no problems. Waste of time and money on these.

I have a number of products from WEXWE and all have been great. These are no exception. The extended length end mills are used when you need to reach down into a deep pocket where regular tools won't fit. Obviously they won't be as rigid as shorter tools so a slower feed rate and lighter cuts are necessary. So far I haven't had a project that requires the extra length but I did a few test cuts on some 6061 with my bench-top mill. They cut as expected when taking light cuts. I typically use a fairly strong air blast when cutting aluminum to prevent re-cutting the chips an smearing the finish. Coolant or WD-40 works great as a lubricant. My test cuts showed good surface finishes and clean cuts, as expected from this brand. Definitely recommended.

Good quality bit that seems to be lasting nicely. The quality and craftsmanship are great.

1" cut length on an 1/8" endmill? I'm sure they have their uses and I'm happy to have them - at less than 5 bucks a pop - poparoppadopalus - why not? At .125" these should be run like a bat out of the refrigerator. Unfortunately, my 1966 Tree only lets me run 'um like a bat out of the freezer - top speed - 3300RPM. Some very shallow standard edge milling test cuts (.010) in aluminum at about 5/8" depth left an ok finish at 3300rpm and showed no deflection. It did scare away some of the coating though. Marketing says these are ultra fine grain carbide at 62 HRC - I doubt that. I have nothing to base those doubts on, but I still doubt it. Might shave some use for these in the future - maybe with plastic - I don't know. Just going to call this 5 pack WEXWE 5 mile End Mills for Aluminum 4 stars. ~ Thanks for Reading – Have an Incredible Life! ~

I got this for my CNC mill to use on aluminum billets. I'm only machining various 6061 blocks, and the endmill has held up well, along with mist cooling. The finish on the cut is excellent once feeds and speeds were dialed in. So far I haven't noticed any deterioration on the coating.

The coating seems to wear faster with these end mills. I am using mainly in aluminum, though, so it could be better in plastics. My fear is that in plastics the lack of strong coating may result in too much heat transfer into the part and issues with finish there as well. The dimensions are as stated with no issues of runout.

I don't cut a lot of aluminum but when I do I like to use something other than my bits I use for wood. But I also don't want to invest a lot of money for something I rarely do. So I thought I would try these. They worked just fine. I had no issues dry milling a hole into aluminum for a bearing to be pressed into. The aluminum didn't stick to the bit so it was cutting at temps low enough so the metal wasn't melting. They seem accurate and the design of the flutes looks like it works well with aluminum. I didn't try them on any other type of metal but they do look like they would work just fine an any non ferrous metal. They probably would work well on steel too.
