The leather is beautiful but it had two bright stripes down it that prevented me from being able to use it. Heartbroken but had to ask for a refund.

It arrived folded in half, perfect for someone who wants to make a journal cover with it. If not, the item will have a mark in the middle due to the fold. I made a journal cover with a pocket in front. Looks nice and professional. I wish I didn't cut the leather because the edges arrived already perfectly beveled. But I cut it and it just fits a hardbound 5x7 journal.

When I got the piece I ordered it was folded in half so it now has a nice line across the front where it had been folded. The sad part about it is that the piece was the same size as the envelope it was sent in. There was no need to fold the leather. Hoping I can still use it. Pretty isn’t it? Plus in my opinion it really isn’t thick enough for tooling. You would cut through the leather.

I suppose it would help if I knew what I was doing, as the book was very ummmm floppy and there was some glue mess. But the leather itself felt nice, and was soft and sturdy. The book looked nice aside from the whole floppy glue issue. I probably was supposed to fold it or cut it or something.

I needed something to replace the straps on my birkenstocks. They weren't worn out but I accidentally bought vegan uppers which means PLASTIC. Plastic makes blisters, blisters make scabs, pain and suffering ensues. Anyway...I have a bunch of upholstery leather from years of that type of work. It was all pretty thin for shoes though. This leather is way thicker than that! It's not something I'd make a belt out of, at least not a single thickness but it's great for shoes! I'd add a pic of my birks but they are gluing at the moment. Due to my innovating and amazing redneck skills, they are wrapped in yarn holding together while I pray the glue sets. The piece I got was rolled nicely and had no creases. There was a small surface scuff but it wasn't anything deep and will go away in time or with more oil. It looks like the picture and seems to be pretty even thickness to me. Nothing hairy on the back or wrinkled, we used to call those pieces armpits and elbows, just where the animal had creases. This piece was soft and smooth and looks like nice flat hide. I have enough left after fixing this pair that I could fix probably another whole pair of sandals. Can't beat the price either. I'm happy and would order again if I needed more. I'm hoping this lasts a while! Lol
