I bought this to remove a fan clutch… basically it is not up to the job on my V8. The jaws are not strong enough so the flex when you put some load on them and then slip off the nut. The flexing also damages the edges of the nut which make the removal more difficult. The retaining handle holes are not far enough apart for common v8 applications. Might work on some light duty motors but not suitable for a heavier job on a V8 motor. Was a waste of money in my experience but I guess buy cheap and you buy twice. Not recommended. Does come with a nice red and black case. Sigh.

The tolerances are way to tight barely fits on my new fan clutch and won’t fit on my used one. I had to grind out the outside edges to allow it to easier slip over the fan clutch.

So the tools and case are pretty nice but I have a 2003 F250 with the 5.4 gas engine and the pulley holder did not line up with the bolts. I welded and modified one side of the tool to make it work. The 36mm is correct for my truck but was way too tight to be easy to work with so it is really worth grinding on that as well to open it up some. If you have an F250 with the 5.4 and you are not interested in modifing the tool then this tool set is probably not for you.

I'd order this again in a heart beat, reasonable price, worked very well. No problem with the 36mm fit the old and new part no issues.

I was a bit skeptical about the price as sourcing these locally they cost like three times as much. However they came in a nice package and were very heavy and well made. I use them and they work perfectly for what they are designed for. It would be nice if there were some instructions included as to how to use the one particular tool of this kit. Not the one that looks like an open-end wrench but the other one which is to supposed to hold the fan clutch from turning while you loosen the bolts. I am very satisfied with this purchase and would not hesitate to buy it again if I needed to. You won't find a better price anywhere.

I need this tool to get the fan clutch off of my 93 E250 4.9L. The 36mm end would not fit, took my digital caliper to it and it is 35.7mm opening and that is being generous. This is unacceptably out of spec and keeping me from doing my work! Avoid this like a bad ex!
