Thread Chaser Set

Different from a tap and die set to cut new threads a thread chaser set is designed for cleaning up and restoring existing threads. They remove dirt and corrosion from threads without shaving off metal and aim to eliminate resistance when reinstalling and removing the bolt and avoid cross-threading.

To use a thread chaser, simply fasten it on a threaded hole or bolt as you would with regular bolts or nuts. Then, turn the chaser slowly down the gunky or slightly damaged threads. Be gentle to avoid causing more damage.

A thread chaser set is for anyone who takes things apart and reassembles them. But most importantly, it is a must-have kit for any auto mechanic for chasing threads on rusty fasteners and bolt holes on cylinder heads, engine blocks, and bodies of vehicles.

This has worked very well for cleaning up corroded and dirty nuts and bolts. Have used most of the included taps and dies and they all work well. The thread files work great for cleaning up cross-threaded bolts. These have saved a lot of runs to the store to buy new hardware.

I work in the auto and power sport industry, I chased a few lighter duty metal holes just fine, hut when it came to 1/4" Steel holes, it boogerd up the thread chaser. Over all a nice set just not for my needs

I buy and rebuild jet skis. This kit is great for chasing threads during the rebuild to ensure ease of assembly. Jet skis can get crud on the bolt threads so cleaning ensures an easy rebuild and proper torque. Even used this on my ATV maintenance.

These are great to chase nuts and bolts, blind holes in engine blocks, assemblies etc. Start your reassembly with clean threads - this is must!
