This set of 3 instruments is great for a toddler. The harmonica and recorder are fun and seem made well enough for a kid. The trumpet works with or without batteries, but you can only get one tone out of it by blowing into it. I would have preferred it to work closer to a normal trumpet, and it would be a lot of fun if the buttons actually worked to change the note. It works well enough with batteries and has a bunch of options. My toddler has been having fun with the whole kit, which is all that matters to me. I think this would make a nice gift for a kid.

Stopped working after a week. Installed fresh batteries and still did not work.

My 2 1/2 year old grandson loves making music on these perfect sized instruments. The tone quality is quite amazing. Great price, great fun.

We bought this for our son for christmas put new batteries in it so he can play with it turned it on and it does nothing but squeak when he blows in it.

They are great for kids to get started to love music and they work for adults too.

Can I give this 6 or even 10 stars? What a fun and entertaining gift, not only in music, but time and memories. Oh my gosh we were not prepared for the screams of excitement from our toddler as he first blew into the trumpet and it squeaked while it played a tune. You could tell he thought he was finally making music. A pure golden moment!You need to add 3 AA batteries to the trumpet for it to play its pre recorded musical songs and sounds as they push the buttons, but even without pressing the buttons for the songs our toddler can blow into it and the trumpet will make squeaker-like sounds. Even the older ones up to age 10 like it, even though some play actual instruments in band!The harmonica is an adorable little dog that his other siblings played, and the recorder sounds just like the one that we all started out with in grade school, right down to the same shrill tweets we've all heard when a toddler gets hold of one.It comes with a stick with a loop that will clean the recorder and dry it out inside, but you need to provide the cloth. Simple enough, any thin eyeglass microfiber cloth will fit in the loop.Our kids and their friends got together and performed a concert of sorts, more a musical mash of noise, but our evening was filled with such laughter and wonderful memories that I can't believe I didn't come across this little gem sooner.If you enjoy creating memories with your kids, extended family of any age and are looking for something that will break through the screen time, this is the toy/present you've been looking for.
