Not a good idea to order these treats during the Summer! All of the ones that I ordered arrived soft and runny!Am really bummed……

Deer won't touch it until it all melts into the ground then they dig at the ground to get the salt. Going to try another one and place on the ground and see if they touch it then. Better off buying mineral.

Deer do like these, once they figure out what it is. They seemed scared of it at first as I watched them interact with the first one I bought. If they ever lick it, they seem to usually love them from then on. Not all of them will use it, or even be interested. I keep one tied up on a short shepherd's hook out near the feed pile where the deer are often seen. I cannot leave more than about an inch or so of slack in the rope when I hang one of these. If I just hang them as they come, or even with say half the length of the loop of rope, one of my bucks always seems to get a horn stuck in the loop, that scares them real good, and the deer sucker gets flung off the horn, and the hook yanked from the earth, and the sucker ends up on the ground with dirt, grass, and feed stuck to it. Deer do not mind when one of these are covered in corn, bird seed, etc. I tie a series of knots to reduce the length of the cord loop to achieve this. This is my first time trying the sugar beet flavored one. But I can attest that the other flavors, even the grape one which I was kid of dubious about seem to be enjoyed equally by my local herd of whitetail deer.
