This is a must have if you like to tinker with nuts and bolts. Sooner or later you will break a bolt or rounded a nut. You will have to find the right size nut and bolt. Sturdy aluminum nut and bolt thread checker. A must have in your garage. Nice!

I have hundreds, if not thousands, of loose nuts and bolts stored in various locations throughout my shop. When I need a specific size I typically run to the hardware store to get what I need rather than sort through all of the various cans and boxes looking for the right one. One of my "someday" projects is to go through all of these and sort them by tread pitch and length. The reason I haven't up to this point is because I've never really run across good tool for measuring nuts and bolts. I've always looked at this style of thread checker that you typically see in the nuts and bolts aisle in the hardware store and thought "That's would be perfect in my shop". This checker was exactly what I needed.The base is constructed out of what appears to be aluminum and the stainless steel bolts are firmly mounted and work great. It includes the most common sizes in both imperial and metric ranges.The checker has small rubber feet on the bottom that elevate it slightly off of the bench and keep it from sliding around in use. The finish appears to be hard anodizing and the size lettering is precise and easy to read. I've got this hanging off of the front of one of the shelves over one of my work benches where it's easy to grab when needed. My bolt and nut sorting project will likely happen much sooner rather than later.If you are like so many DIY'ers that have tons of unidentified nuts and bolts laying around do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these.

I ordered the thread checker because I am a home shop nerd that have always thought it would be great to have one in the shop and not have to take a bolt or nut to the hardware store to figure out the thread and size especially with metrics. I have several containers of bolts and nuts that I have collected over several years along with some I inherited from my father that I would also like to sort and put in small, labeled bins. This is a well-made and very accurate thread checker with everything that I have checked so far and I have had several comments of envy when friends and family see it.

The Reemoo Nut and Bolt Thread Checker Gauge is a handy tool to have on hand. My husband and I are renovating our home. We sometimes have a nut or bolt to replace, but don’t know the thread count and/or size, so we have to take the old hardware to the store to match it. In the past we have lost the old piece before we found a replacement. I thought that ordering this thread checker was an extravagance – figured we might use it only once or twice a year – but decided it was worth it to avoid frustration and wasted time. We have already used it 2-3 times in the 4 weeks since it arrived.The tool is substantial. The base is thick, with 2-4 threads in each hole, and 6+ threads on the nut checker stubs. The sizes are clearly marked, and there is a metric and a standard scale printed along the edges to determine length. Four rubber (or plastic?) feet hold the base off the workbench, making it easier to use. The numbers feel printed, not embossed; if that is the case, over time the print may wear off. With a little care though, the gauge should last a very long time.The single issue I have with the Checker Gauge is that it is manufactured in CHINA, not the US. I prefer to spend my dollars at home, not in a communist country.

Having some old tools with standard threads and newer ones that are metric makes it challenging to choose correct size bolt or nut. This gauge seems very well made, heavier than expected and put sizes at your fingertips. Real time saver.

Let me tell you, this is a must have for any handy man or home craftsman.I started purchasing tools when I was still a teenager, and that was several decades ago. I’ve always liked learning new skills and pride myself on being able to meet most home owner challenges. You might well imagine that as your skills improve and your tool collection grows, so does the amount of bolts and nuts from various projects!Add to that, the amount of hardware that you were lucky enough to receive from relatives and old friends. The problem is that most of those nuts and bolts pile up in various boxes, jars, and cans, as well as in the bottom of your tools boxes.I like to be organized and every now and then I take the time to sort through these accumulations and place everything by size. It makes life a lot easier when things are properly identified and stored for easy access.That’s where this particular tool proves to be so valuable. It’s much easier to identify Metric and SAE threads. Likewise, having a gauge that is made of stainless steel and aluminum is much more durable than the many plastic gauges I have seen in the past.This particular gauge provides well-machined stainless steel bolts for determining either metric or SAE nut sizes and the aluminum base is tapped for checking similar bolt sizes.The thread sizes are clearly marked at each location with metric on the left side and SAE located on the right. Similarly the edges of the gauge provide length measurement, with metric on the left and inches on the right.There are 14 each of the most common metric and SAE thread sizes, ranging from 6-32 to 1/2 and Metric sizes from 4 mm to 14 mm. Threads are in both coarse and fine and everything is clearly marked to easily identify exactly what you are sorting.The gauge measures 17-inches long and 4 inches wide and is 3/16 inches thick. Very well made, anodized finish with highly distinguishable markings. Complete with standoff pads at each corner and two slotted holes at the top edge for easy hanging.An excellent thread gauge that in relatively inexpensive and will last you a lifetime with normal care.
