Cobalt spiral step bits are the poop,I've always bought these retail like a dupe.The best Ive ever seen there is titanium coated,offered at a price...well, big and bloated.So when these were on offer, I inked,Jumping in before I over thinked.The function is strong,and they drill like the wind blows,I don't have a ton of use of them yet,so the longevity is anybody's bet.Why they come in a set of 4, who knows.I like them better in a drill press,if not, they can tend to add to wrist stress.All in all, its a good buy,I think you'll find them worth a try.

I really like this set! I love the little sizes. They work great and fit in some places that the big ones Don't. The cobalt seems to stay sharp for a good amount of time , and the price isn't bad for a set like this. I really like them

I appreciate the variety of sizes included, which has proven useful for a number of projects. For instance, I recently needed to create a clean hole in a piece of sheet metal for a small electrical project. These bits made the job straightforward, and the resulting hole was exactly the size I needed. The case they come in is also handy for keeping them organized. Overall, a solid set of bits.

Worked great for drilling into what I've needed. Fits my drill well and the step bit makes it easy to get the right size. Very durable, and I haven't noticed if it had gotten any dull than from new

I ordered this drill bit set to use for various projects in my home shop. I was very pleased with their performance! They drill through mild steel (3/16") and didn't require a pilot hole to get started. Nice product - five stars!!

Decent set. Only used It on plastic and thin sheet metal so far, but didn’t seem to loose sharpness one bit. Materials seem good. They are very small and lightweight. Also feel like It will help very on tight spaces. I have a 3/4 step but that is at least 1/2” longer. This also means that, if I have something behind the area being drilled. It will be able to go to a bigger hole before de tip reaches whatever is behind It.. Flutes do a good job at keeping chips out. And do not cause constant binding. Comes with a decent storage case, they don't clic in place, but don't move anywhere either. Only time will tell as far as durability, but for now. I like everything about them.

I ordered this set of Step Bits for working sheet metal and square tubing. The 5-piece set includes bits from 1/8" - 1/4" up to 1/4" - 3/4" diameter, making this an excellent set for boring assembly holes for bolts in tubing , and for creating through holes for spot welding.I like the spiral flute on the bits versus the straight cut on most step bits. The spiral flute prevents walking when drilling with a hand held drill. The twist bit tips cuts into mild steel with only a punch dimple vs a pilot hole.And I like the cobalt coating which prevents early dulling. I noticed no excess wear after drilling several assembly holes in thin wall square tubing.I also like the standard 1/4" hex-shank on the bits which fits 1/4" quick connect chucks on some hand drills and impact drivers.I note that the steps are somewhat close together, meaning that drilling in thicker materials such as heavy wall square tubing requires a follower bit to prevent tapering the hole if necessary.Recommend this set to DIYers and Professionals needing a small diameter step bit set.

At first I was surprised to see how small the set was. In hindsight, I don't know why I expected it to be bigger as the max is 3/4" and that is clearly shown.My wife got these for me because she knows I am always using tools. Sometimes she gets me tools I don't use often, but in this case I was pleasantly surprised becasue I have been looking for a good set of step drills.The work as they should, no surprises there.I like that there are many overlapping sizes, and as another reviewer noted, they get into smaller places that the larger ones cannot. The overlapping sizes means you will rarely find yourself stuck. There will always be aother one in the kit that can do the same size except for the 3/4".Probably a little pricey for a set, particularly as the small sizes are tiny. But it is a good set.
