My husband and I are OTR truck drivers and occasionally we need to get under the truck for some minor repairs. In the past we have used all types of things to keep off the ground such as cut up cardboard boxes to the blanket off of our bed. This mat is a most welcome addition. We considered getting different types in the past and most we rejected were large and featured wheels. Not something that was easy broken down and put into storage under the bunk or in the side box. This is definitely small enough for either of those places or we can even leave it open and lay it flat under our bunk mattress. We actually got our first use this evening. Something popped up off the road and damaged one of our lines. We traced it to the positive cable for our in truck inverter. Normally this repair would involve breaking down our side and steps to get to the batteries. My husband was able to instead slide under the truck on this mat from the rear and splice the cables together from under the cab. It was quite dirty when we were done and the mat was easily cleaned using the truck stop shower. It isn't often I find myself both thankful and impressed but this mat kept my husband off of the snow and mud. Protected his body and was easy to use and maneuver. This mat is a solid winner.

This is a comfortable and portable mechanic mat. It can be used as a knee saver, but I wanted this to replace the cardboard that we have been using at home for a long time. We have even used pieces of wood to lie on when getting under the vehicles! This mat is overall an improvement to that. It can be neatly stored in the trunk or garage, which I like. It is slightly too small to be at this price point. I would expect the width to be 24 inches to be a good value--this is 16.5 inches wide. While the length is not a problem per se, I am 70 inches tall and it is 46.5 inches long. It is not comfortable to have your head touch concrete, and my car has a long body build. The mat is mostly used as a knee saver, currently. It does well for that purpose.

I'm obsessed with this thing. The foam is really dense and durable and makes a difference when kneeling or laying on the ground to have this between you and the floor. There are 2 little compartments - 1 of them is magnetic! Amazing! Perfect spot to drop your screws and washers and be able to find them when you need them and the other is great to place small tools like screwdrivers so they don't roll away from you. When not in use, it folds up and is pretty compact, comes with a strap to hold it together for storage.I used this to replace door hardware and install kickplates on 22 doors and it was a life saver. I'll be whipping this out for many more projects.

While this is fairly narrow, it is wide enough and stores fairly compactly - keeping it portable and convenient.The material is quite thick - even kneeling on it is comfortableThe cutouts can keep things in one place and not rolling out of reach.This seems a bit on the pricey side for what it is but it is well made and purpose built - the easy and fast fold up and store makes it more manageable and less likely to get damaged between uses.Nice addition to the garage.

I am more impressed with this mat than I expected to be. It is obviously not intended for the serious daily mechanic, but it's perfect for those who occasionally tinker or change their own oil, etc. It folds up to a smaller size than I expected, and while the mat is a little narrow, it really is big enough for what is needed. You could easily throw this in the truck of you car just in case you even needed it. Very lightweight also. Comes with a nice strap to secure it for storage.

This is for a recent purchase of a foldable mat. I bought this nearly mat for My Husband to use in the garage. Long story short he always lays on a piece of cardboard when he’s trying to fix or repair lawnmowers or different things like that. So I liked that this is able to be folded up. Has a latch that you fold it up and collapse it together. It’s very thick material. The color is red and black. Very sick and durable foam. Has a nice handle to use to pick up and move around.This can be used for pretty much anything even to use outside if you’re using gardening tools in your garden or flowerbeds. There’s endless possibilities for this. The only thing that I don’t like about it. Is that the strap is not attached to the mat. So if you happen to lay it down, you may lose it. But other than that, its very very nice great quality very pleased with my purchase.

This was a bit stiffer than I expected it to be, but that's actually a really nice as even for prolonged uses, it doesn't compress so much that my knees touch the floor. So far I have been using it to work on the cabinets for my kitchen remodel and my knee enjoy this much more than kneeling on the wood floor.The mat is a good size, not so big that it's cumbersome to move, but big enough that I can shift around on it without having to move it. The magnetic tray isn't super magnetic which turns out to be a very good thing. If it were stronger, it'd be annoying to remove screws and other hardware from it. As it is, it keeps all your stuff in the compartment when you bump the mat or need to move it.I appreciate that it came with an elastic strap to keep it collapsed when not in use. When folded up, this is small enough that makes it quite easy to store.I've always had a hard time keeping kneepads actually on my knees when I'm doing a lot of up and down, so this is an amazing alternative. I will absolutely get a ton of use out of this and I'm very glad I got it!
