I tried it despite only 2 reviews which both had 1 stars as device had $80 coupon and the 1 star review said there were no instructions and this was lowest priced product with the coupon. I figured I could try to figure this out for the large discount. On the plus side there were instructions in many languages. On the negative side the display was preset to Chinese instead of English. After going around the house just looking at the colors of the windows and doors, I came back and found that there was a capability to switch to English. I pressed every function until I found English. It does do a good job of flipping between different areas and finding cold vs warm areas.Pros: it seems to work fine. It also works while charging which is convenient when you want to start looking at things immediately or if the rechargeable battery ever dies. You can just carry a portable battery charger, hook it up and it works while charging.Negative: language is Preset to Chinese and it takes some time to figure out how to switch to English. The instruction manual has very blurry pictures so you can't figure it out by comparing the Chinese characters in the manual to the screen as the Chinese characters are too blurry in the instruction manual.Findings (during winter): the corners of exterior walls (where 2 walls meet or walls and ceilings meet) measure colder temperatures than flat exterior walls. If you have wall hangings or pictures or curtains covering exterior walls, it does make a difference in raising temperatures (its extra insulation). Bottom of doors and windows are colder than top if covered with curtain (probably because warm air rises). Sidelights on doors are really cold on bottom even if it's sealed to outside so may need more insulation or something on the bottom. Windows covered with curtains make a difference in temperature. Bathroom fans, ceiling lights and attic access all need more insulation. If you have decorative raised panel doors, the non-raised portions of the door are colder (during winter). Even with storm door, exterior door is colder than walls with insulation. Conclusion: if you're just trying to figure out the areas which are colder (in winter) than others and where to fill in cracks or cover with curtains, this device is sufficient. It is inconvenient to have to deal with a foreign language in main screen but if you're just looking at colors, language doesn't matter. If you need more advanced functionality you can spend the time to change language.

This feels really solid, however it keeps freezing up and the screen says "calibrating". Also the laser pointer was not correct which made it even more difficult to use. This feels more like an older 32x32 thermal camera.
