This is a great little kit for beginners. The videos that go along with this kit are very helpful and a great pace for someone who has never done an amigurumi before will feel confident when they are done. The quality of the yarn and hook is impressive too! The design was simply done to be able to follow along easily. I love this for my ADHD!

I love Woobles! And this kit was no exception. The directions were easy to follow. You can download the pattern and follow that or follow along with the step by step video instructions. What I like is that it's not just a youtube video that you have to guess where you are on the pattern. You can skip or go to exactly the step you are on in the series of mini videos. Literally step by step guys. She makes it so easy this is truly Crochet for Beginners and I'm here for it. This pack comes with everything you need. Yarn, instructions, crochet hook (and what a cute hook it is to match the theme of your project), the stitch markers and needle. (You just need to provide your own scissors). The yarn is extremely easy to work with and will not fray. This kit would be good for ages 7 and up (maybe even earlier if your kid is good with step by step instructions). The design of this character is true Woobles fashion, but you know exactly what character it is in Squid Games. This was a lot of fun. The only downside, is if you want to make another one, where do you buy the mask from??? Have fun woobling!

This is an ok beginner crochet kit but its not different than all of the others that are at a much lower price point. I normally do not review anything based on price just quality etc. but this one was impossible not to. I have completed several of these beginner amigurumi kits with all sorts of animals and characters. This one like all of the others comes with the supplies you need to complete it and some extra for mistakes. The quality of the supplies is the same as all the rest. They all have video tutorials but all of the ones I have done also come with written instructions so you can actually learn to read a pattern as well, this kit does not so you have to scan the QR code and watch the many many video clips to get to the pattern. There is a pattern you can download but I did not find it until I was done. She does do a good job of explaining how to complete the stitches with great helpful hints but the videos are way to short and there are too many of them. I had to keep putting down my project to hit the next button, after a while that got old. I know this is for beginners but I did not like how the first piece was started for you instead of showing you how to do it (Magic circle). Then when she finally did show how to do it she did not do the magic circle but a work around for it that is "easier" and does not come out quite the same aka doesn't look as good. She should just teach the correct technique and not start it for you. This is a MUST know technique for amigurumi since it is how almost all of them are started. In my opinion that is an epic fail. The characters in these kits are also quite small. Given the price point I am sure they could easily provide kits with larger animals/characters etc. This character finished is right at 4.5 inches. The yarn choice is interesting and really stood out as a good learning yarn. Its impossible to fray and doesn't slide easily on the hook so you can make nice tight stitches. Its my first time using that type of yarn and it is definitely frustration free. My overall opinion is that this kit is wildly overpriced for what it is. There are many better, more affordable options if your looking for a beginner crochet kit. The only reason to purchase this brand is if you want these licensed characters.

There is an interesting commentary to be made about the preponderance of Squid Game marketing for Season 2, but obviously, that's not really connected to this product. Also, I cringe at saying Squid Game "fans" because I feel like Squid Games speaks to our current society and blah blah blah...Anyway, Woobles! I've tried one in the past (the actual one, not one of the dupes), the unicorn, and I thought it was pretty clever (though I was a bit unimpressed also at the unicorn because it was a bit weird, but again, that's a tangent). The Woobles claims they come with everything you need and copious instructions. And yes, they actually make good on that claim. Other than maybe scissors, everything you need - all the yarn, the needles, the stuffing, the hook (which has a specific Squid Game design) - is sufficient for making your project. The other big bonuses to these kits is the fact 1) that the magic circle is started for your first piece with the first three stitches clearly marked and 2) the video library of instructions on how you do each stitch.I've been crocheting for nearly 3 decades, so I didn't really need the video library, though I have poked around with them. My assessment: a great tool, very detailed, slow and elaborate, though some of the stitches are shown with different projects so it might be strange/confusing. (Why does the crocheter have a lion and not my project?) Which was fine for me because Woobles also provides an 11 page PDF that is also super detailed and clear. This project said it could work up in 3 - 8 hours; for fun, I timed myself and came out at around 97 min. (YAY ME) I could see where someone with less experience or smaller hands might take longer.Overall, I am really impressed with these types of kits and their ability to introduce new people to crochet. I have minor quibbles, which I'll briefly touch on here:1) There was a large amount of black yarn and a separate smaller amount of black yarn in the Wee Woobly Bits envelope. What was the small black yarn supposed to be used for?2) I either crocheted too tight or not tight enough. My stitches have gaps to see the stuffing underneath, which suggests a loose stitch, but I tried super hard with the provided hook to make my stitches tight. The original magic circle was pretty loose (suggesting I should have gone looser), but I was having trouble matching that tension and also I hate outside pull and opted for an inside pull.3) I used all the stuffing and he's still pretty squishy, not overly firm. I've seen loads of videos where people barely use any stuffing and I wonder how their projects look so solid! This is not a cheap project by any means, but what you are paying for is convenience. Every tool you need in just the right quantities. A pattern with clear instructions on how to do each stitch, meant for someone who may never have picked up a hook before. For a more experienced crocheter, you could probably do this yourself for cheaper - but if you want the special hook or a kit for someone who is new, this is a fun idea!
