Tailor-made for Resonator Guitars If you play a resonator, the Aged Brass Balltip Rock Slide is the one slide you should never leave home without. Its pronounced ball nose makes it a combo slide that works well on Dobro, lap steel, and resonator guitars. It’s unmatched in comfort thanks to its contoured finger rest and knuckle cutaway. I've tried a lot of slides and this is favorite so far. It's snug on my pinky and allows for greater control in isolating notes and playing behind the slide. I like the tone, not too bright and kind of warm and the weight is perfect. It's almost like a fourth finger and not a foreign object on my hand. Because of that, I can transition in and out of fingering more fluidity. It's worth a try.

Looking for great fourth finger, or smaller ring finger slide with a ball end? This one works perfect and looks great doing it.

This slide sounds great, has a good weight and feel but medium is a small, for me . It measures 0.750 inside and is 2.625 deep, I need .813 to clear my ring finger knuckle, since I prefer a little more control with my pinky on the outside of it. It's still a good slide but I couldn't find the information I needed to get the right size,so I hope this helps someone else. I got these measurements with digital calipers so the numbers could be off by .001 or .002,but you get the idea. The "aged" part of the brass will wear off as you use it and it may not be that great outdoors in the summer because of finger sweat, but we will see.

Rock Slide immediately became my go to. Have the amber glass which is great for my Republic Steel; the antique brass primarily for Cigar Box; and, my new balltip that is really versatile. But beyond sound and comfort, the balltip having the end-heavy nose wiggles like crazy with just a shake of the finger. The pendulum effect kicks into a wide sustained vibrato with minimal effort. No other slide so far can match it for slippery sound on slow Delta stuff. Rock Slide has mastered design, these are terrific slides.

It’s slightly tapered inside so it fits securely. It also has some weight to it, which feels nice. Also, the brass is tarnishing over time to a nice effect. It’s rather expensive, but worth it.

I liked how the slide had the notch for a better fit - I wear it on my pinky finger - and I think I should have gotten a small size, instead of the medium (but I lined the inside with cork for a better fit) I like the top being closed and rounded off for playing one string notes but it takes a while to master the correct technique. I think there is room for improvement.Wish it had more weight at the top - more concaved shape so we're not having to push so hard to be pressure on that 6th string - like we have on the 1st string. All and all, take a chance if you're interested but save the packaging in case it's not for you.

Fits my ring finger perfectly (medium) and the cut- away portion is comfortable. My glass slide was a bit light. This just feels right.

Rock Slide makes the best slides available. They are the first ergonomic slides that I have seen. They are the most comfortable slides I have used - thanks to the knuckle cut that accommodates bent fingers when playing standing up.The Balltip slide is also great for double duty dobro or lap steel playing. It works well for stand up playin' on a Dobro or any slide guitar. And it works for sittin' down and playing a lap steel - acoustic or electric. The extra weight helps in any situation and the ball tip gives you the versatility you need for lap steel. Best purchase I've made!
