This does make good cappuccinos and espresso, but it is very poorly designed. The latch that holds in the cups broke fairly quickly, so I have to hold it closed during the brewing cycle. Unlike k-cup machines, the Rivo drops the pods into a little waste bin. This makes for a very dirty machine. It leaks a lot of water, so the water mixes with the discarded pods and creates a brown sludge. Mine started attracting gnats, so I have to clean out the bin after every use after the machine has had enough time to leak water. I'm ready for a different machine.

It’s build is seriously flawed. 2nd machine broke within 4 months use on each one. I just bought my second one 4 months ago after the first stopped brewing. I only used the first one about 10 times. It's because of a bad build with the used pods and a part they know of. It's really good coffees. I've made them for parties, thanksgiving, etc. everyone loved them. They were so sad when the first one died as a I tried to use it at the last BBQ. Now the second is dead. If the old pods container gets too full, it breaks. One of the kids did it this time. It should have some way of not catastrophic failure, if it gets full. The other part that broke was a metal part on a water tube right before it goes into the cup. I tried for three hours to fix it by YouTube videos. No go. They know all about it. Look at YouTube for broken Rivo. The first one I just ignored it, bought another because it’s a real cool machine, great and easy espresso drinks. Too much, I want my money back now.

I am no coffee snob, but I do enjoy a good latte in the morning. This machine delivers high-quality at-home coffee period. As people have mentioned some of the cons are that you can only buy the Lavazza brand coffee pods-- honestly, that's not a problem for me. You can get 18 pods for $12 (with the 20% coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond). That's a little a under of 70 cents per cup and you're getting something VERY close to a Starbucks quality (~$5).This machine has saved me a lot of money--$5 at Starbucks versus $1 a cup (adding the cost of milk). It has also saved me time, I regularly make mocha lattes in under 5 mins( this is less time than a Starbucks run in the morning).I LOVE this machine and everyone else who tries it at my house does too!

It makes wonderful cappuccino and latte. But there is a trick to get the frother to work. It beeps three times when it's not in correctly and once when it is. It generally takes me up to ten tries to jiggle it and get it working, so if you're not patient this is not the machine for you. I considered sending it back under warranty, but I'm too addicted to my morning brew to give it up, even if I occasionally want to kick it.Sarah in Carefree

Love it Love it Love it. I'm not a coffee drinker in general - but I do like the occasional latte however I hate the fuss in making one. My old machine was on the way out and I realized, though I do not use it often - I would miss not having it at all. The want of a new machine led me to searching and researching various machines until I found this one (and a couple other pod espresso machines). The bonus on this one was the ability to steam milk (as others that enjoy espresso need their steamed milk even if I do not) as the other top contender for my money did not offer a built in steamer.I am very happy with my purchase. The machine warms quickly - I turn it on and tell it what I will be making, then get out my mug, pour my syrups and place under the spout. Then put in a new pod, take out a stirring spoon and that is about the time the heat up takes and I'm ready to brew. Brewing is fast, and results in a lovely crema on top. While I could make a less expensive espresso, this takes all of the hassle of making a latte away (no grinding the beans, tamping the coffee, watching the output to stop the machine once done, etc) and is also faster than my old machine in both warm up and brew.I do hope that down the line a reusable pod will be created for this machine by a third party so I can use other coffees if the urge strikes, but I'm perfectly happy with this machine as is.Mine came with 3 testers of each coffee, and while I slightly preferred the delicato - everyone involved with the taste testing said the classico was the way to go (though a couple preferred the intensio 'if they had a choice"). The classico is the 'mid' in flavor strength to my tastebuds - still easy enough to mask with syrups for those of us that do not like strong coffee taste. The decaf flavor is very similar to the classico - and was nice to trick my brain but not actually add the caffeine boost in the late afternoon - I now have classico and the decaf on hand. For ease, speed, and a nice flavored coffee - I highly suggest it (and though I am not much of a coffee drinker over all, those that are were also quite happy with the results in my household).

Sold by OJ Basics, fulfilled by Amazon (Prime).Amazon customers should be made aware ahead of their purchase that the package they are receiving has been previously fiddled with.Well, I did receive the unit, and samples... but in a previously opened package and not a "sample pack" as pictured and certainly not what one would expect from a NEW/Unopened box. I documented each stage of opening once I realized the package had been previously opened with a blade. Was looking forward to being able to try each if the blends, however, I was not provided with the delicato, nor the decaf. What I did get were 7 Classico and 6 Intenso, literally thrown into the box.The power cord was unraveled and barely hanging on to its opened corrugated packing.I am hoping for the best.... However, at this moment, 30 minutes after arrival, 3 stars is the best I can offer based on this experience thus far. I will revisit this matter to either improve ... or otherwise once the unit has been prepped and used with the carelessly strewn pods of espresso.
