We purchased these planter boxes for our fence surrounding our patio. They fit perfectly and blended in nicely with our fence. They are sturdy, and just deep enough for what we wanted. We have since moved out 4 years ago, but have driven our old home, and the new owners must be very happy with them, because they are still using them. It was a great purchase.

I was looking for flower boxes to fit over my apartment balcony railings. It’s been tough as my railings are only two and a half inches wide. These are wider and larger than I would’ve liked. While the quality seems okay, I returned them.

I bought them because my local store did not have them anymore:(First difference was cost, these were way more expensive, thinner plastic and very tight fit!

Have not have a chance to use it yet. I am replacing a similar one that fell off the deck and broke. You have to be careful with what you plant in this type of planter. I planted Zinneas which got quite large, then a high wind day pulled it off the deck. I plan on planting Zinneas again, but this time I am going to tie a tight bungie cord from the side to side next spring to hold it to the deck.

Nice colour, looks good and works well. Rated 4 because first unit that arrived (returned) was cracked in two places. It was replaced within 48 hours.

I planted an entire packet of mixed planter box seeds in each of two of these sturdy planters outside in late May (I live in northern Alberta, Canada) and despite getting snowed on, this is a photo in mid-July. There isn't as much soil in these as in my 12 inch pots but the plants in these planter boxes are doing better than in the pots, and my neighbour's boxes with bedding plants. Granted I used soil with slow release fertilizer already in it. Despite being more exposed to wind and sun, I water these planters daily during hot (30+C) days same as the pots, and less often in cooler temps. When it snowed, I had to haul fully planted boxes into my sun room - they weren't heavy (I'm a senior), but even in strong winds, they stay put on my balcony. These were really economical too compared to other options. I got extra large planters from Akro-Mils on Amazon a few years ago and they are my go-to brand for quality reasonably priced planters and they take plastic spray paint well when I want to change the colour (I've only done that for indoor pots). I highly recommend these planter boxes and will get more next year.

A good strong material, nice depth for planting, and also, because of the design, not necessary to put additional "things" in the bottom to help with drainage. They fit perfectly on our two-inch railing......also will fit a four-inch. I am very happy with this product........we have our herb garden in full growth!

My railing fits in the narrower slot, but this still never really feels solidly in place. Also, it sits high on the railing, so it blocks my view and it's not very attractive. Been growing lettuce in it successfully, however, so it does its job. But I wouldn't buy another one.

I ordered 3 of these planters several months ago. They take a beating from the sun and still the color hasn't faded a bit. I loved them so much that I ordered two more to match, in Mocha color. However, Amazon sent me two planters that were a pinkish white color. Inspecting the bar code, it clearly said "Mocha". However, upon closer inspection and in peeling up the label - was the original label "Champagne" color. Explaining this to Amazon, they sent me two more planters (Amazon is always wonderful about these things). Upon arrival they were yet again the incorrect color. This time only one of the planters had a partial bar code under the "Mocha" label, and you guessed it - "Champagne".Make sure you are getting the correct color! The "Mocha" color is far more natural and elegant than the "Champagne" color (I find the Champagne color to look "cheap"). Also the replacement shipment was even more misleading because someone along the shipping lines -nearly- removed the original labels. I likely would have never realized this had I not previously purchased 3 of them months ago.Make sure you are getting the right color! The Mocha color is the one in the photo (at least, it is as I write this). And if you are curious, the "Champagne" color is exactly the color of this planter (made by Akro-Mills) The link is just a color reference.Other than that, these planters are great!

What a great and clever design! If you have a cedar fence like mine, this is the perfect color since the fence weathers to a gray color. The fit is secure and I love the design that has optional drain holes that drain on either side of the fence (instead of on the fence itself). I opted to open the holes that go on the outside of the fence and leave the ones on the walkway side closed so that my feet won't get watered when it rains or I water the planter.

I orderedd 8 of these boxes. Excellent quality and box size is quite substantial. I have shopped for these around town with no luck. I was quite impressed with them. The drain holes are on each side of the box that hangs over the rail. I was concerned it would drain on the actual wood rail and liked how they drain on each side of the rail. I give these five stars and recommend them. I also like how I can store them out of winter weather.

This product is PERFECT!My wife and I live in a condo complex that is very particular about the color of decorative items that are placed outside -- everything must be neutral. The color of these planters (we bought mocha) works very well with the paint scheme of the complex. I also wasn't sure how these would work on a slightly rounded-top 2x6 railing -- but they fit perfectly, and they are plenty deep enough for whatever flowers we plant.Before buying online, I searched all the local stores for deck rail planters without any luck. Had I known how much I was going to like these, I would have ordered more from the start! Also very happy with the shipper -- product received 2 days after the order was placed. Would definitely buy this product again.
