As a serious gardener, I'm claiming this hat to be my all time favorite. Strong words for a little cotton hat. The S/M size runs true. I wear a small Stetson and this hat is slightly big but my pony tail fills the slack. It has "grommeted" ventilation holes with screening small enough to keep the biting gnats out of my hair. The brim is wide to shade my eyes and it is holding up to machine washing and drying; must haves for a hot humid environment. Really appreciate this hat and ordered a second one.

The hat is light weight, cool and fit well. It shrank a little after washing, but stretched back to normal after wearing for a while.

It's not you--it's me. Yeah, I must have a funny-shaped head or something. I have a very hard time finding hats that fit my head. It could be because I have an unusually large brain and skull to accommodate. . . who knows. Anyway, the cotton fabric is lovely, the color is faded for the worn look, the grommets were good quality. The circumference fit my head fine, and in fact, the L/XL was just slightly big (I normally wear 7 3/8 or 59 or 23 inch), so that wasn't the problem. The problem for me was the depth of the crown. It just felt like it didn't come down low enough on my head. I want my hats to sit just below the bulge in the back of my skull and still come down to just above my eyebrows. This was much too shallow for that. Again, I think it is just my head, but wearing this felt like the hat was sitting on my head, not hugging my head, if that makes any sense. My search for a hat that properly fits my likely deformed head continues. . . .

Just received today, tried it on and it is true to size. I have a size 7-3/4 head and out of the package it was pretty floppy and almost loose, so I gave it a quick wash in lukewarm water and dried it with some heat. I wanted to shrink it a little, and it did but feels like a great fit for my big head. The brim is a bit wider than I thought it would be, measures out to 3".It will work great for protection from the sun and be a hat I'd wear camping or outdoor events. Good cotton feel after the wash....it's a keeper.

This is a very good hat because it's lightweight and keeps the sun out of my eyes. The string is good for when it is windy.

The brim is more lightly constructed than one might expect from the marketing photos. It will not hold its shape.

I LOVE this hat!!!!! It is functional (keeping out the sun) but also looks great. Mine is the brown color and it is exactly as the picture shows. The rim is a bit floppy as the picture shows and that is one of the things that I like. I saw some reviewers complaining the rim is not stiff and straight enough. They may not have seen the example pics, but if you want a straight, hard rim, this is not for you. Personally, I think this looks much better.The other day I put the hat into my backpack; it took almost no space. In fact, I could not find it for a moment and thought I had left it at home. But then when I see it way down at the bottom taking almost no space I was so happy to have it as I was driving home in super bright sunlight. Even though I had sunglasses it was not enough. Adding the hat is ONE THOUSAND times more comfortable. I love that I can scrunch it up and then take it out and it still looks great!!! I ordered a hat from a different company at the same time and will probably return that one (and buy a different color of this one) as the style is not up to par with this one.The only thing that could be improved is if the fabric actually was SPF certified. My reason for purchasing this hat was the sun protection; so that little added assurance would mean a lot. Either way, still love it and am thinking about getting the white and/or pink ones next.
