I am always skeptical of Amazon purchases. This hat arrived promptly and appears as shown. No fluff, no tricks. Its very bright and even has a reflective brim which I was unaware of. I haven't tried washing it but it feels like it could handle it. I would recommend if you are in a situation where you need hi-viz up high.

Seems true to size. I have a smaller head and the Small/Med fits well. It has a nice cloth type fabric on the inside brim that makes it very comfortable to wear. I cut the strings off cause they drove me nuts. Over all it works and the brim isn't as flimsy as some people might say. It's bendable enough to for up and tuck away but firm enough to hold it's shape when not folded small. I could still adjust the brim as the sun sinks lower. Mixed with the price it's a good deal!

Just a little tight. Other than that, good hat, good size brim—but not too big, feels cool, probably won’t keep absolutely 100% of the sun off of your head, but I haven’t been burned or even tanned. Heavy drawstring for windy days. Recommend.

This hat is prefect for visibility, nice and bright. I ordered a small/medium and it fit over my head (22 inch) nicely. It's not too tight. The very top of the hat is rain proof. This part does not breath at all, so I punched a few holes in it with a hole punch, because I use it on hot humid days and I needed air flow. Good sized brim to keep the sun off my face, and the adjustable neck straps are great. Will be buying another one in the future.

I am a sailor who likes to sail long distances (e.g. 1200nm+) offshore in the ocean. I bought this "ranger" or "boony" hat to protect my face and ears and neck from sunburn. I have an extra large head (24.5" circ), and sometimes even "Extra Large" hats will not fit me well (or are too tight). This hat comes in XXL and I bought that size. I am very glad that this seller/brand (Ergodyne) has made this XXL hat (as few hats are made that size). I hope Ergodyne will continue to produce hats this large, as I think that is a competitive advantage as other sellers do not. I compared this hat to many others that look similar, and this one came in the needed XXL size. Others don't. I am very happy to say it fits very nicely, without any tightness. In fact, I like it so much I am going to order another one to have in case I lose this one. If I had a regular crew working for me, I would buy each person one of these. The high visibility yellow/lime color is very bright and is also good for sailors. The hat has two different reflective materials that really do work very well. The wide reflective band or ribbon on the hat crown is very good retroreflective material. In addition the hat has a narrow reflective trim that goes around the outside of the brim. Together these are very good at reflecting lights such as headlights of cars or spotlights or flashlights. This does provide a good sense of added safety visibility at night. The fabric used is lightweight, and the hat has a vented crown. I have worn this hat for many days in the hot sun and never felt "hot" under the hat. The hat comes with a very nice and long "stampede strap" or "wind strap" or "cord keeper" with a sliding adjustment button that works well. When sailing, I snug this down and can face the wind without fear of the hat blowing off my head. The brim is wide enough to provide good protection fo my ears and nose and face when under high sun. It also provides some sun protection for my neck. The hat material is light weight, so this hat can be easily rolled up or folded up and stuck in a pocket when not needed. But, because it is light weight, it is hardly noticeable when worn. I highly recommend this hat as a very good value, with outstanding features and functionality for sun protection and high visibility. By the way, I have not received any compensation or discount for writing this review. I simply like this hat very much, and consider it an excellent product, with outstanding value if you need sun protection and a larger size had for wear outdoors. If you are a sailor, hiker, walker, yard worker, field worker, farmer, or anyone who works outside and wants better all around (wide brim) sun protection in a light weight hat that is comfortable and easy to wear, this is a good solution.

The small/medium will fit almost anyone, unless they have a 1960s beehive hairdo or fro.This is actually the second time I bought these. Last year I bought one to use kayakfishing so powerboats see me and don't run over me, and for sun protection. The grey stripe is HIGHLY reflective at night like reflective tape.Now I bought an extra to keep in the car in case of flat tires.I wear it all the time. Whenever I wear it shopping, high School age boys and girls all want one. Keeps the sun off my face and neck while fishing, gardening etc, and the top part is vented mesh. so it's cooler than many hats.I used to wear straw hats, but they sometimes blew off my head and across the lake. The retention chin strap on these has a button to lock or release the adjusted tightness, a fantastic feature on windy days.I now have 5 Orange ones, my high school aged niece borrowed my yellow one and won't give it back, that's HER hat now.Funniest thing, I'm old and have a grey beard, but high school kids want to wear what I have ... I wear them for sun protection and safety mostly, but I'll admit, they do look good on a person too.I can't recall EVER getting compliments on a hat, but this one gets a lot of compliments from all ages. Not only do the high school kids like it, ladies in their 20s to 50s say they like it, so I'm having to exercise more speed walking to escape all the women wanting to flirt with me (just kidding, but I suspect the high school girls and boys want them because you do get noticed instead of just blending in with a crowd)I originally loaned the yellow one to my niece at a festival so I could spot her easily if we got separated in the crowd (which we did when she met up with some of her freinds) When I wear one to her high school concerts or plays, people all come up asking where to get one.Actually, I bought 4 this time, One for car, one for fishing, one for gardening, one to get borrowed....Apparently buying 2 last time wasn't enough)
